DHC (Dorking Healthcare) was founded in 2004 by GPs with the aim of improving NHS patient care in the local community. It subsequently evolved into a mature organisation led by local healthcare professionals. DHC provides NHS services in Surrey and Sussex.
DHC GP Federation comprises the Primary Care Networks of Dorking, South Tandridge & Redhill Phoenix. Together we serve a population of around 100,000. Our collective strength allows us to develop a wide range of high quality services designed to meet the needs of local people:
i) More appointments at the weekend and in the evening with a GP or nurse
ii) Access to practice based Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, and Mental Health Practitioners
iii) Supporting vulnerable people at home via a partnership with Surrey Downs Health & Care
DHC Outpatients provides a wide range of specialities at Dorking Hospital and Holmhurst Medical Centre (dhcclinical.co.uk)
DHC Talking Therapies is a self-referral service to help with common mental health problems (www.dhctalkingtherapies.co.uk)
DHC Outpatients provides outpatient services with appropriate length appointments to see an individual consultant. If an operation is required, this will often be performed by the consultant themselves either at an independent hospital or at an acute trust. Patients are then followed up by the same consultant.
