About

The Centre provides support through groupwork where women and girls can meet, have fun, learn skills, look at issues relevant to their lives, building confidence in a safe and supportive environment.  Alongside these services the Centre provides one to one support for anyone who needs it.  We provide youth clubs in the evenings for girls: Primary school age 5 - 11; Inters  8-13 and Older Girls 13-19 where we deliver activity based sessions including gardening, cookery, music, cycling, and explore issues including Children’s Rights, puberty, self-esteem and assertiveness.  We provide group work sessions for women in the mornings, including Gardening, Cycling, Cookery and a One-Stop Shop where we provide personalised support alongside a free brunch.  We have our own farm in Northumberland and take women and girls up there weekly to learn how to look after the sheep, plant trees, build hen houses and how to grow on a larger scale.  West End Women and Girls Centre is a registered charity which has been working with girls and women in the West End of Newcastle since 1981.
