About

The Hinge Centre Limited provides a range of holistic support services that bring residents and young people together and promotes a greater sense of community spirit and engagement, as well as breaking down the barriers of discrimination and the cycle of poverty. We operate an open-door policy and work in a professional yet non-judgmental manner to provide support, guidance, services and opportunities to those facing social and financial deprivation.

We provide 3 main projects:

Resettlement – Supporting those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness

Community Cohesion – We provide benefit & welfare support, support with creating CV’s and looking for employment or further education opportunities, as well as food provisions including; community food store, waste not Wednesday and emergency food parcels. We facilitate a range of weekly groups which all aim to create a sense of community spirit, reduce isolation and improve social networks and skills.

Children, Young People & Families – We provide after school and holiday activities for children aged 5-12 years, an opportunity to provide new experiences and opportunities to those in our local community. We also facilitate a ‘Us Girls’ group on a Wednesday evening, for Girls aged 10-16 years, which provides a safe space for girls to socialise and talk, as well as trying new activities. We facilitate family sessions and trips, to enhance family connection.
