The NHS Health Check service in Suffolk is available at GP practices in selected pharmacies and in the community across the county. Contact your GP to request a check or visit www.suffolkfed.org.uk/healthcare-services/nhs-health-checks/ to book a check at a pharmacy or in the community including during evenings and weekends.
Referral method
If you are 40-74 years old without a pre-existing condition and are registered with a Suffolk GP you should receive a text inviting you for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years. Once you get your invitation follow the instructions to book your appointment. You can also ask your GP surgery to see if you are eligible or contact Suffolk GP Federation to find out dates and locations of the community service.
Description of service
The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.
