About

SWAPS can support and enable people with disabilities across the South West to live their life to the full and realise their potential by living in a family based setting.

SWAPS offers a wide range of Shared Lives services which are delivered by caring and skilled people in their local community.

SWAPS is a registered charity delivering Shared Lives services (formerly known as adult placements) in the South West of England.

Opening times

9am - 5 pm Monday to Friday.

Access

Shared lives services operate in family homes. We have a very diverse range of homes within the scheme - rurual and town based, large and small. Many are adapted for people with mobility issues.

Catchment area

Devon, Cornwall, Plymouth and Torbay

Target group

People with a learning disability, people with mental health needs, older people, people with dementia, parents with a learning disability, carers of all the above groups.

Referral method

Referrals can come from service users, their familiy carers or via a local authority acting on their behalf.
