The Health Check service is available at GP Practices across the local authority area

Referral method

To be eligible for an NHS Health Check you will need to be between 40-74 years of age without a pre-existing cardiovascular related condition and registered with a GP in Shropshire. Whilst you remain eligible you should receive an invite for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years. Once you get your invitation follow the instructions to book your appointment. You can also ask your GP surgery to check your eligibility.

Description of service

The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.
