Most GP practices in Sandwell will offer Health Checks. If your GP practice doesn't provide NHS Health Checks they will inform you about which practice is offering them on their behalf.
Referral method
If you are aged 40 to 74 years and do not have a pre-existing health condition and you are registered with a GP practice in Sandwell or reside in the borough you should receive a letter or SMS inviting you for a free NHS Health Check every five years. Once you receive your invitation please follow the instructions to book your appointment. If you have questions about your eligibility you can also contact your GP surgery or reach out to the Healthy Sandwell team at Sandwell Council Public Health.
Description of service
The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.
