About
We are a group of parents who were having trouble accessing family leisure activities for our children and young people with SEND and their brothers and sisters, so we decided to set up our own group.
Our activities: swimming, bowling, indoor play and soft play and bouncy castle, are to be enjoyed by families and children being taken out for a treat by a carer, and each child is the responsibility of the adult that accompanies them. It’s a good chance for parents and carers to meet for a chat. A lot of parents have found out a great deal about services they can access and other information relating to disability issues, as a direct result of our group’s get-togethers.
Opening times
Our Friday Evening Family Swim started again on 16/4/21 at Haltemprice Leisure Centre in Anlaby, Hull 7.45-8.45 pm with social distancing and other Covid-19 precautions in place. It is essential that families email us to book as places are limited and do not just turn up (See website for further details). Our other activities are still under review and will start again after thorough risks have been assessed, and as Government restrictions are eased further. The health and safety of our families is paramount. Our monthly soft play at Haltemprice Leisure Centre is not due to restart until after September 2021 or later due to building work.
Our regular get-togethers are weekly Mondays 5-7 pm and Fridays 7.30-9 pm (Pre-Covid 19). We do try to arrange either exclusive use or quiet times at the venues that have been chosen by club members. We also do one-off visits and trips, usually in the school holidays when funds allow.
