About
The Macular Society is a research and support services organisation dedicated to helping people with macular disease/age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and funding research to find new treatments and one day, a cure.
Macular Society support services are available for free to any person diagnosed with a macular condition, and their families and carers. We provide expert guidance, information and advice, including practical support so people with the condition can make the most of their remaining vision.
The Macular Society funds macular disease research projects throughout the UK, including PhD studentships at university hospitals. We advocate for better funding and availability of eye health services across the country.
We hold an annual conference to update members, donors, supporters and eye healthcare professionals on the latest developments in macular disease research and support services.
