This is a special library service for those unable to leave their home to come to the library. We provide a home delivery service of library materials for residents of the borough who because of age, health or mobility reasons can't get to their local library.
When they are accepted for the service, a member of the library staff will contact them and fill in a detailed questionnaire about their reading tastes.
They will then be visited once a month at a regular time by a volunteer who will deliver their books, CDs, DVDs, talking books and information. Specific items can be requested but may be subject to waiting lists.
Access
Volunteers visit the home library service users, but all our libraries are disability accessible.
Target group
Members of the public who are unable to reach their local library due to age, health or mobility reasons.
Referral method
People who fit within this group can get in touch with their local library directly over the phone or via email, or family, friends and neighbours can apply for them.
