Hestia provides floating support services to people living in Wandsworth to help them maintain their tenancy, manage any other diagnoses, and to live independently in the community.

This substance misuse floating support service is specifically for people who have had a problem with drugs or alcohol living within the borough of Wandsworth. There is a separate generic service for people with complex needs or chronic health conditions, and another service for older people.

The support can include a range of practical housing-related help, including:

• Applying for and maintaining welfare benefits

• Managing debts and paying bills

• Speaking with professionals and agencies on your behalf

• Help learning to budget, cook, clean and shop

• Accessing community resources

• Dealing with landlords and neighbour disputes

• Dealing with correspondence

• Providing emotional support

• Finding employment, training and educational resources

• Arranging aids and adaptations

• Looking after health, wellbeing and home

• Finding other accommodation

General notes

There are 15 spaces available for the drug and alcohol service. The service is for people who are:• Single and aged 25+• Experiencing issues around drugs and/or alcohol, but motivated and engaged in treatment• Eligible for housing benefit• Living or normally staying in Wandsworth• Homeless but not seen as having priority need• Requiring support with independent living, but able to maintain a tenancy with low to medium support
