The Society aims are:

- To SUPPORT and provide information to people affected by this common genetic iron overload disorder

- To PROMOTE awareness among helath professions, patients and their families, the general public and policy makers to increase early diagnosis and treatment which will preserve a normal life expectancy and qood quality of life for those affected

- To encourage and support RESEARCH and provide resource material for families, and allied medical professionals
