Description of service
A lesbian and gay centre based in North East London, established to promote the health, wellbeing, empowerment and equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities. Core front-line services are run from the ELOP main centre in Waltham Forest. All ELOP services are directly or indirectly targeted at addressing the needs of lesbians and women who think about having, or have sex with women, and gay men and men who think about having, or have sex with men. This may include those who self-define as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or who have same-sex attractions or partnerships, or are same-sex sexually active. ELOP operates a holistic approach and believes that health and wellbeing cannot be fully achieved or maintained without the 'whole self' being addressed. ELOP also delivers second-tier work and provides information, training, consultancy and support. Provides volunteering opportunities and student placements.
