The NHS Health Check service is available at GP practices and Your Health Dudley for all those registered with a Dudley GP or resident in the Dudley borough.
Referral method
If you are 40-74 years old without a pre-existing cardiovascular condition high blood pressure diabetes or currently taking cholesterol lowering medication and are registered with a Dudley GP you should receive a letter or text inviting you for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years. Once you get your invitation follow the instructions to book your appointment. You can also ask your GP surgery to see if you are eligible or contact Your Health Dudley to find out dates and locations of the community service.
Description of service
The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.
