About
Dorset Advocacy works in the Dorset and BCP Council area with disabled people, carers, people with learning disabilities or difficulties, and those who lack mental capacity. We help you to speak up so that you get the social and health care services that you need. We can also provide support if you are applying for Continuing Healthcare funding or appealing against a CHC decision.
Opening times
Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
Access
Good access at our Dorchester office.
Catchment area
Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole
Target group
People with learning difficulties, disabled and older people.
Referral method
Most of our Advocacy is statutory, so referrals should come from the relevant professional. Usually this is the person's Social Worker or the local DOLS office. Self-referral is accepted for CHC Advocacy. Referrals are usually made via email or telephone.
