About

Blind and Sight Impaired Society (BASIS), formerly PAVIS Foundation for Visually Impaired People is a registered charity (no. 1074567) based in Basildon but working throughout south Essex. The organisation was set up in 1998 to promote the welfare of people with sight loss and assist them in becoming independent and maintaining independence and quality of life.

Through empowerment, BASIS helps people gain in confidence and self esteem whilst also combating feelings of isolation, frustration and grieving arising from sight loss.
