About
Ashbourne Community Transport (ACT) is a community scheme limited by guarantee, made up of local people for local people. Its objective is to provide accessible transport for those unable to access standard public transport services because of disability, age-related mobility issues or because no such services exist, e.g. as in many rural areas
ACT operates 25 accessible vehicles 3, 8 and 16 seaters, working primarily in the Derbyshire Dales but also provides services in East Staffordshire, Staffordshire Moorlands, South Derbyshire, Glossop and District and parts of Amber Valley.

ACT services include: - Weekly Derbyshire Connect shopping bus servicing all parts of western and southern Derbyshire - Active Travel for Health. Transport for those unable to access public transport for health related services and appointments - Dial-a-Ride can provide general transport for individuals with mobility disabilities or those who may be rurally isolated and who may have difficulty using other forms of public transport - Group travel for community groups (such as Scouts, WI) and specifically for organisations supporting individuals with specific health conditions and independent living including health and wellbeing activity - We are also able to provide Passenger Assistants to assist individuals or may be unable to make independent journeys
