I went to the pharmacy to collect medication that I had ordered through my surgery. The pharmacist struggled to find my prescription and looked on system one checking when I had ordered it and how. After lots of searching of the pharmacy he found my medication alongside the prescriptions sheets on bulldog clips that they go through when you give your name-to the side of the counter/till? All the medication ready for collection is stored on the shelving unit in alphabetical order on the left hand side of the pharmacy as you look in from the shop floor? I was amazed that my px was not on the shelf with the others but even more surprised when the pharmacist then chastised me and told me "you should collect your medication monday to friday, don't come in at weekends as we don't know where they keep everything" I had been quite ill and just wanted my meds and to get home asap which was just as well for this poor confused pharmacist! q1 at what point was it my fault that my px was not in the correct place? q2 where is the sign/information telling customers to only collect weekdays? q3 why doesn't the person in charge not know where to find things? q4 why was my medication not in the correct place?
