  1. Review titled Poorest service ever from a pharmacy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by John - Posted on 16 May 2024

Ordered repeat prescription on the Wednesday via NHS app Got confirmed by GP on Thursday Went in to collect it Saturday 4:45pm to be told it wasn’t ready as they have 300 prescriptions per day to go through and they need 5 days to organise it so come back Wednesday. I was then asked, have you run out, I replied honestly and said that I would run on the following Tuesday, her reply, oh that’s good, if you’d have run out I’d have made it up now for you. I turned round & walked out absolutely livid but said nothing.

  2. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anlaby Resident - Posted on 15 May 2024

This used to be a great pharmacy but in recent years, the service has been dreadful. Prescriptions taking over a week to be ready, when sent electronically from the surgery. Staff levels are now so low, that today I waited an hour to be served. The manager and the pharmacist werebrude and unhelpful - basically acting as if they're doing you a favour by giving a bare minimum service.i trued to call with a query but they didn't answer the telephone; leaving it to ring & ring, then picking up & immediately hanging up. Today they closed the store for lunch, and locked the doors! I have complained to Boots head office, but have had no response. This is affecting the community and Boots simply do not care. We have had to move to a pharmacy further away, just to get medication on time.

  3. Review titled Awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

Queued up for 20 mins to then receive only one item from my prescription which I had ordered 9 days previously. A lovely gentleman let me go back in line to get the rest of my prescription which included metformin. I asked the lady serving if I could go off to do other shopping and come back for my prescription as it needed to get ready. My son is autistic so as he had waited for a long time already this was necessary to give him a break. The lady said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We arrived back in the store after 13 minutes and waited a further 15 minutes. At no point was my name called out. I then asked a different lady at the desk if my prescription was ready and she told me I needed to queue back up as 'how are we supposed to know?' the queue was longer than my first queue. I apologised and explained that I had asked if I could go off to another shop. She went and got my meds. I apologized again and said that I had done this before and I hadn't been aware the process had changed. Again she asked in a patronizing tone 'How are we meant to know who you are? We don't do that. You could be anyone' I said matter of factly, 'by my face' . At this point she looked me dead in the eye and clutched my medication. This was a moment when it was clear she did not want to give me my medication. I tilted and shook my head and she reluctantly gave me it. At no point did the other lady who said I could go off to another shop step in to say she had let me. I was so upset this had happened I walked to the local hairdressers who had to support me through a hypo. I have since moved pharmacies after going to this one for over 30 years.

  4. Review titled Horrific duty of care and GDPR

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Amy - Posted on 15 May 2024

Staff were rude and ignorant Staff were speaking loudly regarding personal information so all customers in queue can hear patients personal information; medication, addresses, dates of birth Staff were rude in both tone and manner, especially when collecting a prescription after a GP appointment to be told that GP’s shouldn’t tell you it’s ready straight away because we are busy! No empathy, no customer service, no care or courtesy Staff congregated behind the counter in the dispensary area and have prolonged conversations, ignoring customers who are waiting

  5. Review titled Sadly As Bad as the Other Boots Branches

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 November 2023

Thought I would try this branch after a poor experience in Cottingham. Unfortunately it wasn't any better. Huge queues. Stressed and overstretched staff. Fed up customers and the inevitable "we don't have it, can you come back ?" Looks like I am going to have to try somewhere else

  6. Review titled Dirty shop and staff are overwelmed

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sally Johns - Posted on 18 May 2024

I called for a prescription my husband had ordered to find it was not ready so had to wait for it to be prepared. While waiting I notice the shop was filthy especially the floor. Along edges of shelves there was fluff and filth and the floor was visibly dirty. Many of the shop shelves were empty and dirty. This is a very busy chemist and staff are clearly overwelmed. They are often short with customers and people sit waiting and complaining. This chemist needs a complete revamp, a good clean, more staff and a different culture to customers
