    My 2nd cataract surgery was in my opinion a superb example of patient care. My surgeon and all the other staff were great ambassadors for CHEC.

    Not possible to rearrange my appointment (cancel & rebook) online - can only do by telephone. When I asked the operator why they didn't provide an online option (given that their initial appointment scheduling is done electronically by text offering choice of appointments, so I expected the same for rearranging), they said something to the effect that they didn't do that as otherwise people could be cancelling & rebooking their own appointments all the time. As the 'customer' that's kind of the point - it needs to be easy to cancel & rearrange appointments because other things come up and it's not always easy to make telephone calls (I was abroad and tend not to make/take voice calls). I had to email to cancel (actually I've no idea if the appointment has actually been cancelled, not had any written/text confirmation), lots of missed calls from them with no message left when I was abroad & at home (I don't pick up calls from numbers I don't recognise & repeated calls get blocked on my phone). Still got to find time to call them - Chec's service would be much improved by offering an online booking, cancellation & rearrangement option.

    I have now had both eyes done had my first one done on 02/04/2024 and my second done on 02/05/2024 both were a success . Had different surgeon’s for each Opperation the first was much more pleasant than the second, but I think this was because I was expecting it to be the same as the first each surgeon has there own techniques hence a different experience.

    From the first consultation to the operation end what lovely people.Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. It was almost a pleasant experience. As pleasant as an operation can be. Thank you everyone at CHEC Stevenage.

    Ist visit and no real idea what the issue was or what would happen. Pre visit details all clear and site located easily - clearly signed. Made to feel welcome by the reception team offered coffee and shown to waiting room. Only waiting for a very short time before seeing the optical assistant who was calm reassuring and explained what was required. Felt throughout as though I was valued and that the appointment was about me and not just a process. Great staff and a great attitude which meant that my initial fears concerns or anxieties were quickly dispelled. My only negative observation is that within days I received a text asking me to make an appointment when I had already booked one and attended it.

    The service and treatment was outstanding no long waiting time for an appointment. Following my consultation I was given an appointment next day for my cataract to be removed what a great service

    Fantastic staff from entering the building to leaving. Everybody was friendly, confident and couldn't have asked for anymore from them. A genuine credit to the NHS.

    Absolutely disgusted with the service. My father has severe COPD and really struggles getting to appointments due to his health. He had an appointment which he attended and was told he could leave before they completed the scan. Made another appointment (which he wouldn’t have had to attend had they done their jobs properly the first time) Unfortunately He had to cancel due to his health so instead of making another appointment they referred him back to his doctor. I’m disgusted and so is he. Also the staff are rude!

    Came for a procedure at this practice. All the staff were friendly, professional, and explained things compentently. Also put me at ease as it was my first time having this procedure. I highly recommend this practice. As a individual who works in healthcare too i was really impressed. First class healthcare! Keep it up!
