I came for a colonoscopy today 9.01.2024, A daunting experience for anyone but as a disabled wheelchair user I found the staff to be extremely helpful, kind and caring. The efficiency of the service I could not fault. So thank you Colonoscopy team for being so kind and understanding, it’s reassuring to know that this service does work, so if called get it checked and don’t be frightened the staff are on your side! 2. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

All staff were very kind and caring, from the nurse who booked me in on arrival, the nurse who took me down to theatre and the various members of staff who looked after me whilst waiting to go into theatre. The staff who looked after me in recovery and saw to my pain relief and the nurse who looked after me back on the ward post op.

  4. Review titled Packed NYE but fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ben - Posted on 31 December 2023

Had to take my wife into A&E with suspected appendicitis. Only waited 15 mins in a packed a&e for her to be seen. And was promptly told to go upto a ward to get her checked out. Fortunately it wasn't appendicitis . We were in and out in under 3 hours. We cannot thank the staff enough.

  7. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended A&E with a broken shoulder. Waiting times were acceptable. X-rayed quickly and respectfully. Follow up appointments at Orthopaedic clinic were timely. Orthopedic consultants were attentive and informative. Instructions and advice were clear and thorough. Every member of staff I encountered in all departments was professional, courteous and efficient. I have received excellent care and speedy follow up physio treatment and would like to thank everyone who made this possible.

  9. Review titled A hospital unable to dress surgical wounds??

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 December 2023

I had life changing surgery a week and a half ago and came to A&E because my stitches have popped and I have a hole in my body. I was passed around from pillar to post, reception staff were disputing that I did not belong in both departments. Eventually serious injuries decided to take me as their paitent, however I was told that they cannot cover my wound, I would need to visit a GP for this because they do not have staff to do it? I started my hospital visit at 8pm. Its now 3am and I have an undressed and unclean wound. I know our NHS is stretched so I am happy to wait my turn, but I did not expect to leave without absolutely any support. Aslong as I "haven't got sepsis it should be ok" unbelievable!

  10. Review titled How do staff cope?

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 November 2023

Took my mum to a&e at 5.30pm on a Monday, it was incredibly busy but as the evening wore on it became totally rammed with ambulances queuing up. Every member of staff we spoke to was brilliant & working so hard, but the hospital is so under resourced both in staff & the size of a&e. I cannot believe that such a recent redevelopment was planned & signed off and is so inadequate for the needs of the community. I must admit that I wasn’t convinced by how the system works, up & down speaking to different staff having to go over & over why you’re there, in for BP, then blood tests, then to see a nurse, then a doctor then a scan, it just seems to inefficient. Those suffering are those needing medical help & the staff trying to deal with everyone. As people are waiting 6 hours plus, getting tired & hungry tempers are fraying & the staff are not always being treated as they should be which is so difficult. It is so sad to see such an amazing institution with amazing staff struggling.
