  1. Review titled Please review access to new Fracture Clinic

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 October 2023

Before I start, please let me say that every person I have dealt with on my recent trips to Ipswich Hospital has been caring and professional if obviously overworked however I arraived at your new fracture clinic with a broken ankle and a frame. To begin with, the drop off, pick up area feels about a mile from the door when you have restricted mobility There are few ways of gaining support, initially some fencing and then three benches before what appears to be an acres of wide open space before you get to the door Once you get in the door, there's the log in machine - again with no visible way of being supported whilst entering endless questions It's a nightmare

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on the new layout for dropping patients off at Ipswich Hospital Fracture Clinic. I have spoken to the Matron who has expressed her apologies for any inconvenience that the building work has caused. Once the works have finished the Fracture clinic will be moving to a more accessible area, unfortunately for the short term we have had to put drop of areas where it is safe for patients and public. Again I am sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused and hopefully this will be a short term solution. The Matron has said that they will review the entrance to clinic and if possible provide chairs for patients next to the log in machines and see how they can support patients once in the department. Many thanks

  2. Review titled Abysmal Hospital. If not Dangerous!

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been awaiting urgent Heart Surgery for 7 months. 2 of these months is due to Ipswich Cardiology not sending the necessary documents to Papworth as requested by Papworth and local GP 3 times each. Even now after using every single number in Ipswich Cardiology I get no answer or responses to my messages. It seems like they've shut down the Cardiology department. All 18 numbers I've used is a deadline where all you can do is leave a voicemail. Please for the love of God send the documents to Papworth Hospital ASAP. It isn't difficult! Papworth Hospital and my GP cannot get hold of anyone in Cardiology, by letter or calling. Ipswich Hospital seem inept at completing simple tasks and putting my life at an unnecessary risk. This is a dangerous game to play. Day by day I'm getting worse. Without the images and documents my urgent surgery cannot go ahead. Do not go to this hospital for anything other than a bruise. If you need specialist care at another hospital, they will not provide them with the information necessary. Avoid this Hospital if at all possible! I've experienced better coordination in Hospitals in Africa. Shocking.

  3. Review titled outstanding patient care

This was my third visit to the urology ultrasound outpatients clinic this year and each time I came away with nothing but praise for all the staff who looked after me. I was shown nothing but courtesy, kindness and respect from everyone involved. During the course of the procedures I was always informed what was happening and had time to ask my questions at the end of the consultation, never feeling rushed.

  5. Review titled Orwell and Deben Wards

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kylie Land - Posted on 11 October 2023

I went onto Orwell Ward to be induced on 3rd October and had our gorgeous baby girl on Deben on 4th October. We just wanted to express our thanks and gratitude to the staff, Midwives and Dr's who helped bring her into this world, especially the midwife and student midwife who were with us in Birthing Suite 4 all day on the Wednesday, who also gave up their second break to stay with us until she was born! The Dr's who helped deliver our daughter were also amazing! We just wanted to let all the team who assisted with the birth know that we are extremely grateful and would highly recommend Ipswich Hospital! The pre and after care on the Orwell Ward was also amazing! Please pass this onto the team and I hope the midwives and Dr's who assisted with the birth will be made aware!! Thank you!!

  6. Review titled Learn to listen, don't assume

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 October 2023

An interaction with a so-called specialist deeply unsatisfactory. Would not listen, instead asked a set of repetitive questions, most irrelevant to the situation at hand and then ignored the answers and asked the same questions again. I feel fobbed off, I do not feel I have been heard, I have not been made to feel reassured or even as if there is any care for my problem at all, and I am extremely angry that this type of practice is allowed. I support the NHS 100%, I wish it would support me 100% in return. And i waited months for an appointment. Total let down.

  7. Review titled Chaotic

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2023

This was my mother's third visit in roughly three months and I do not understand why on each visit we have to explain what medication she is taking. On one visit when I asked why this was not checked in her nhs records I was told there wasn't time for that. A lot of people would have no idea what medication their parents were taking.

  8. Review titled Caring and respectful staff throughout

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Laura - Posted on 05 October 2023

My son was in a lot of pain and every member of staff we encountered was reassuring; introducing themselves and treating him with care and consideration. The doctor who treated him was very gentle and kind with him and explained what he was going to do before he gave treatment. The staff nurse was also lovely and accompanied us for x-rays etc. The paediatric waiting area was very clean and quieter than the main waiting room. This is our first visit to this hospital and it was far better than visits to the hospital we used to go to before we moved to this area.

Thank you for telling us about yours and your sons recent experience in A&E. It is great to hear how the staff put you both at ease and what could have been a traumatic experience as comfortable as possible. I have passed your comments onto the Matron for the area to share with her wider team. I hope your son is continuing to make a good recovery. Many thanks

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had elective surgery on 31st August and was in hospital for four days. From the moment I arrived, the care, kindness and friendliness was great, making what could have been a very stressful time much more bearable.
