This is an amazing GP surgery. They respond to calls promptly, the staff are always helpful and kind and will make sure they find an appointment for you if needed. The care is thorough, personal and responsive. Every Dr I have seen has been brilliant at listening to the issue and investigating and helping with the cause. The nurses are equally as friendly and efficient. Very grateful for their care and amazing service. I have been twice in the last two weeks - once for myself and once for my 4 month son and both times spoke to this as it has previously. Thank you!

GPs are great, but process for getting appointments is awful - have to ring in the morning on the day with no online booking or even phone queue, so just have to call over and over again to get an appointment. Managed to go through that process today and book an appointment to be called by the GP, only to find out later in the morning that the appointment was not actually booked somehow despite verbal confirmation from receptionist. It was not possible to get one anymore as all slots were gone, and they were not even able to book me one for the next day, so will have to go through calling process again to get the appointment that I already booked. A ridiculous process adding unnecessary stress to managing health issues.

Thank you for the time you have taken to provide the Practice with a review. Your comments on the GP's are appreciated thank you. I am sorry you had a poor experience trying to get through and a subsequent belief of a booking that was not. Without more detail on the latter I am unable to investigate this further. I do apologise you experienced this. The phones are very bust each morning 0830 to 0900. We have a new telephone system that now tells you what number you are in the queue. In addition we have online consultation where patients can complete a form and submit for the GP to see. There are online appointments for GP's & Physiotherapists. These are taken quickly so when you look, it is as though there are or were no appointments. Unfortunately the Practice cannot change this. Thank you again for leaving us this review. My regards. Registered here shortly after moving to area. Needed to transfer some repeat prescriptions and website said to make telephone appointment. Amazed to get one the same day! Doctor had my notes in front of her so also did a review of my general health and previous issues. Recommended to have an NHS Health Check, carried out within 2 weeks (would have been quicker but Nurse was off sick on day of original appointment). Check found one measure of cholesterol slightly high, addressing via dietary changes presently. I also got a badly infected insect bite more recently, again , got a telephone appointment within an hour, followed by an immediate visit to surgery for her to confirm and prescribe treatment. My experience of York Street has thus been excellent so far, would recommend if you move into the area.
