I visited today and saw a locum doctor. He was excellent. He was a good communicator and a good listener; he dealt with me with efficient skill, compassion and good humour. Having worked in healthcare all my life I know this was an excellent consultation. Please pass this on to him. Well done and thanks.

I had a really positive first time experience at the practice today. I called, had a telephone consultation with a doctor who was clearly battling feeling poorly himself but still working from home, and was seen and medicated in the same day. I didn’t think this high quality of same-day care still existed on the NHS. Very positive experience, staff in surgery also very welcoming and friendly.

My 5 year old son woke up struggling to breathe in the night. I called the surgery at 8.30am and spoke to someone with very little waiting time. He then saw a doctor and we had a reassuring resolution and a prescription by 10.30am. We’re so grateful to have had such good service. Thank you.

The receptionist on duty was welcoming and helpful. My appointment was at 11.15 I checked in and I was seen right on time. I was only having a shingles injection however the practice nurse was welcoming and kind. She explained to me the advantages of having the injection, a lovely person. I would like to commend all the receptionists. When you call the surgery they are always very helpful.

I'm not going to give any details here because I am too upset. I rarely contact the practice but did so recently and feel utterly let down. The Dr on the phone couldn't wait to end the call, lacked sympathy or empathy. And, often suggested that I should be self-diagnosing! I believe I am an intelligent person, however, my profession isn't medical, which is why I asked for an appointment and surprisingly because someone in my family is quite unwell! I feel unsupported, totally deflated and reluctant to ever ring again.

I ring the GP and explain my problem to the receptionist, 30 minutes later a doctor rings me back. after a discussion she says come to the surgery. Another excellent GP carries out a thorough examination and says I need an urgent blood test and a scan. 2 hours later the blood test is done. At 5am the next morning the on duty GP rings me and says go straight to the hospital for admission. An hour later and I am in bed in the hospital. Because the diagnosis by the GP was spot on my scan request was already in the system and was completed a few hours later. you could not ask for a more speedy access to the local GP team, excellent and accurate diagnosis, and prompt referral to the local hospital. Whatever you hear or read and although primary care is under increasing pressure Westbury on Trym primary care is there for you when you need it.

I visited today for a urology appointment with a clinician, I’m unsure of his name but he was a bald gentleman and he was absolutely brilliant. Honestly this man should not only be respected as his work as a doctor, but also for his words of wisdom that have genuinely stuck with me and had a great impact on my thoughts and attitude towards the issue which I visited him for with my bladder. It was honestly like having a chat with a caring dad. Really was the wake up call I needed, and he provided me with a lot of helpful information which I never knew previously about my condition. Absolutely hats off to this man and to your clinic for this service, I couldn’t be more grateful.

I had some strange pains in my jaw and chest . I told the receptionist on a Friday lunchtime. Within half an hour I had a call from the Practice Paramedic , with firm advice on what to do if it happened over the weekend and blood tests and and ECG arranged for the Monday . The ECG was reviewed by the Paramedic who checked with the duty doctor and got me a full doctor apptmt for the Thursday .By then the bloods were back and the next steps decided. It was a splendid joined up professional service .Thank-you very much ,I thought it would be weeks before I got to see anyone.
