  1. Review titled An absolute disgrace.

Got to be the worst Doctor surgery i have even been in. Cancer patients treated with contempt, heath advice zero, blood pressure and diabetes results ignored and even blood test results not passed on. No appointments available unless you book 6 weeks in advance, even if a Doctor tells you to come back in 2 weeks. Appalling for a modern day surgery.

  2. Review titled appalling service going from bad to worse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 September 2023

The service provided by this clinic is a true reflection of everything wrong with the NHS - Patients have a window of 3 mins to book an appointment at 8.00am - After that there is no availability. Even when you manage to get an appointment, they either book the wrong doctor, or even let you just see a nurse. You then need to go through their phone booking system until one time you hit the jackpot and manage to see a doctor. Service is truly horrible, and has been horrible for the past three years - not sure if there is much point in submitting a review of this clinic, since it has already been established through the last review that it "needs improvement", however nothing is done - You're failing the entire village

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback and apologies for my late response. I thought I had already responded to you but the website must have timed out. I am so sorry that you have cause to complain about the service you have received. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know the details so that I can investigate this or if you feel things have improved since you posted. You can also make appointments through the website using e-Consult or on-line. Some on the day appointments become available from 7.30 a.m. If you are unsure how to access this please ask a member of our reception team to help you. Patients are asked details of their condition so that receptionists can book them into the most appropriate appointment. We do have minor illness nurses and specialist diabetic nurses who can deal with a range of ailments, but a patient should not be booked with a nurse when they need a GP appointment. I am unsure of the circumstances of being booked with the wrong GP. Sometimes we have had to change GPs at short notice if a GP is ill for instance, but the patient should be informed prior to their appointment, I do apologise if this didn't happen. I will pass this feedback to the staff so that they are mindful of ensuring patients are booked with the correct clinician. Jennifer Gough Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Car Parking

Rated 1 star out of 5

Although this claims to be a medical centre be aware that it does not include the adjacent pharmacy. You will be fined up to £100 for parking to attend the pharmacy.

Car parking is available for all our patients attending the surgery. Our landlord made the decision to implement parking restrictions as our patients were having difficulty parking. The adjacent pharmacy has some car parking spaces at the back of the pharmacy building.

  4. Review titled Fantastic Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jeanette Challis - Posted on 27 March 2023

Called this morning for an appointment with the call being answered within a minute. Receptionist was very polite and extremely professional. Appointment offered for 10.30am same day with reminder text sent. The doctor was also so lovely, listening to me and asking questions with a good examination - would definitely see her again. Reception area whilst waiting for the GP was calm, clean and obviously very well run. A prescription and x-ray was organised by the doctor before I left. I was able to pick up prescription and have an x-ray within hours of leaving the surgery. The whole process was easy and streamlined and stopped me worrying as I felt I was in good hands. Thank so much Village Surgery - I do appreciate this excellent service.

  5. Review titled Great patient support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Keren Wilkins - Posted on 12 January 2023

The Patient Liaison Manager (part of the pharmacy team) has been very supportive to me over the past 18 months. She has helped me to obtain the HRT prescriptions and blood tests that I have needed to get my health back on track. She has spent a considerable amount of time understanding my personal circumstances and then worked with the surgery's pharmacy team and GPs and local pharmacies to ensure that I had access to various blood tests and medications. This was especially helpful last year during the time when there was a shortage of HRT medications.

  6. Review titled Not a good experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is impossible to see anyone quickly. I have had to go to the Putnoe walk in 3 times over the last 6 months ( they diagnosed and prescribed for me)and despite the doctor there saying I need to see my own doctor for further investigation I still can't get an appointment. Finally get an appointment today to have it cancelled 5 mins after I arrived at the surgery!

  7. Review titled No Appointments Ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 October 2022

I was told a Dr would need to speak to me regarding recent blood test results however no appointments ever available when I call on the day. I was told today no pre-bookable appointments for this month or next! It really is extremely difficult to to get an appointment these days. The receptionist really didn't care either and offered no apology or suggestions.

  8. Review titled Great Nursing Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Anita H - Posted on 09 October 2022

In a world full of negativity at the moment, I thought I had to write in to say what an asset to the medical centre the phlebotomist is. This site does not allow me to mention her name unfortunately. Despite all the changes of ownership, covid and staff changes, she has been a "constant" throughout. She always welcomes me with a happy positive attitude and her knowledge and skill set is appreciated. From someone who had a phobia of needles I can say that she has changed my perception to giving blood. She is caring and reassuring and actually listens to her patients, which seems rare these days. I hope she remains with the Great Denham Medical Centre as she is a credit to the team.

  9. Review titled Excellent practice and care for patients

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 October 2022

Staff (doctors, nurses and receptionists) at the medical centre were so helpful and made me feel like they actually care about me and what’s going on. Working in a school and not being able to drive, it can be hard to get in and get an appointment. When I came out of my appointment needing to book a blood test they were really understanding and fitted me in there and then for a blood test. All staff were super friendly with a ‘nothing is to much trouble’ attitude. Thank you everyone :)

  10. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 September 2022

Waited one month for a 10 minute phone appointment because I was told face to face appointments were not possible. On the day of my phone consultation, the line is cut. No call back. I had to call the reception several times to ask if I would get a call back. The response? The don't know if or when I'll get called back. Well, guess I better book another 10min appointment next month and if that gets cut off - tough luck?! I waited one month for 10 minutes of the GPs time and they can't even follow through. And that's after waiting 3 months until I could no longer ignore my health because I knew how terrible the service would be.
