I recently had to cancel my holiday to Iceland following a fall. The admin lady who dealt with me regarding my insurance claim was really helpful and supportive as I had to complete the process on line and not really tech savvy. She arranged for a telephone appointment for the Dr to complete the form and all ran smoothly. The Dr's who treated me after my fall were excellent, I got a face to face appointment due to a swollen leg and same day referral to Manchester Royal Infirmary Care Unit as I may have had a deep vein thrombosis and had treatment that day and a scan on the following day. In all my dealings with the Robert Darbishire Practice since becoming a patient in 2016 have always been with the exemplary.

Before I moved to Manchester and changed my gp practice I don’t think I ever had a good experience going to the doctors. When I was concerned about something it was always such a struggle for me to get sorted as I had to ring at 8am on my day off and it was so hard to get an appointment I was always never listened to which made me feel anxious about asking for help. The Robert Derbyshire Practice has completely changed my outlook on accessing gp services, It is so much easier, filling a form in anytime of the day meaning I don’t have to wake up extra early and stay on hold for hours on my day off, I feel listened to and they don’t make me have to come in for an appointment if they don’t think it’s necessary and can diagnose my symptoms over the phone which is much easier as it’s like an online appointment which saves time for me and them. It also frees up space for people who actually do need to be seen in person for more serious matters. Yesterday I was in placement as I am a student and don’t have much free time I was able to fill the form in on my break and pick antibiotics up on my lunch which meant I didn’t have to take a day off to go to the doctors the person I spoke with on the phone was very helpful finding a pharmacy near my placement so I could start my treatment right away. This is probably the best experience I have ever had with a gp and I am extremely grateful for how thoughtful and considerate she was with me. I would highly recommend this gp surgery to any other students who are asking or looking for a new one.

My gp practice for around 5 years since moving near the area. The staff and doctors are brilliant, and the reception team are always cheerful and friendly.

Worst surgery ever! I dont even know where to begin. Needed urgent blood test done on my children. After 13 cancellations and 2 times they lost the blood sample we finally got the result and the doctor wanted to repeat the test. It took us 6 months to get all the test done because apparently they only have one paediatric nurse who is off sick all the time! We complained last time and they just blamed NHS for lack of funding. We got an apology at the end. Gave them a call again last month as my child been unwell again and the doctor told us to get a immediate blood test done. We are still waiting for an appointment. I spoke to the doctor on 29th June and they already cancelled couple of appointments on the day couple of hours before the appointment. We took time of work on many occasions but they just cancel the appointment last minute. I am just so fed up of dealing with them that I havent been to GP in years. Obviously I have to take my children in when they are unwell and then I have to deal with all this. I have been really unwell and filled in a form this week where I clearly stated I am having occasional chest pain and difficulty breathing for last few weeks along with other things. Well got a call back and the doctor spoke to me about one symptoms I am not too worried about and booked in a blood test next week for it. I told her about the chest pain again and she said she will see me after the blood test and talk about this!!! I've decided to go A&E as these doctors clearly dont know what they are doing! Avoid like plague! This place is abolute chaos.

I contacted the practice for help with contraception. I had a couple of weeks wait to speak to the nurse as she is a specialist but when I spoke to her she was amazing. She was so knowledgable and kind. I would recommend this practice they are easy to communicate with and have good staff.

I've been supporting people, via a charity for 3 years, to access medical care, who have a range of challenges, including language barriers, and have never had a bad experience here. The staff have gone out of their way to show kindness, compassion and a willingness to help as much as possible The people I support to go to Robert Darbishire Practice tell me they receive good care under their GP and quick appointments when needed. I would absolutely recommend anyone in the area to register here!

I have been trying to get my prescription for days , I was told to make an appointment so I filled in the form to make one, first day no appointments available, I try the next day early in the morning and it seems my form wasn’t read at all because I was just sent the link to request a repeat prescription despite saying in the form I needed an appointment, I called the practice and was told I needed to fill in the form again and again no appointments I haven’t had my medication for days because of this
