  1. Review titled Getting the correct answer from your surgery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 June 2023

I requested for some repeat medication from Croft medical about 2 weeks ago, not knowing that the pharmacy recommended by Croft was closing down( Lloyds pharmacy sainsburys) I had no idea seriously as I don’t shop in sainsburys and only use the pharmacy… My prescription was not processed by sainsburys.. On Wednesday 21st June I went to collect my meds and found out that Lloyds had closed, I rang my doctors to find out where and what was happening with my prescription and medication, which I was told come and collect your prescription and go get your medication! I questioned why I haven’t been advised! To which the receptionist starts to cover up the fact that someone had been sitting on my prescription without informing me… I went into Croft to be greeted by an individual who was will to understand the important of my medication, instead we got into an argument with a doctor who came in to try and help but didn’t… I had to walk out the surgery without my meds, sugars low as I was upset and worried… we had to travel 4 different pharmacies as my meds are not always in stock… No apology apart from it’s the patients fault and Croft medical don’t have any connections with the pharmacies they promote…

  2. Review titled Excellent service

I had a really good experience ,as I received a worrying letter from the NHS, the Practice Manager did an excellent job of sorting out the next appointment for a blood test and a word with my GP in no time at all ,very efficient.

  3. Review titled Dreadful service!

To say getting an appointment with this farce of a surgery is hard would be the understatement of the millennium. And like others have pointed out, when you do get finally get through, they come across very rude and are told all appointments are taken and to try again tomorrow at 8am. Last but not least, explain to me why you seem to be the only surgery that hasn't reopened your doors? I'd hazard a guess that it's easier for your reception staff to dismiss people on the phone than it is to dismiss them face to face. Please can you improve your service?

  4. Review titled Worst phone line experience ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

Three years after leaving a bad review about this practice, nothing has changed. It is nearly impossible to get through to reception. I called at 8am for a blood test for my daughter and waited over an hour to be told there are no appointments and to try again tomorrow at 8am....why?! To receive the same message again? I called at 8am and the phone line kept cutting me off. 20 minutes later I get through to be told I am caller 48 on the line. 1 hour and 10 minutes later, the lady on reception was polite but in all honesty there is no help here. I was given the option to try booking online at 8am...but the same scenario lies there...first come, first served at 8am. And I don't understand why your reception is still closed. All other healthcare are now open. Why are you any different? I don't think I stand a chance to get a word with a Dr or getting the blood test appointment for my 3 year old daughter. Croft medical, please sort out your practice. Your clinicians are great but this is unfortunately vastly outweighed by the substandard phone call service. I was told you don't even have a receptionist. My call today was for a non urgent booking, I was told I cant even book a non urgent appointment a few days or a week later. Your practice is capable of being a 5 star practice, but you will never achieve this with this type of phone call experience. Read your reviews, everyone is saying the same thing. Your sincerely, A frustrated and disappointed father.

  5. Review titled Night mare to get appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Dear Sir/Madam, I am unable to see a doctor when I require for a general checkup over 4 years The app does not allow for the scheduling of appointments, and when I called to make an appointment. I was instructed to call at 8am. However, I work at the hospital from 8 to 4. Nonetheless, I called today and I was held in position 40 for over 25 minutes. As this practice is local to me, I decided that it would be good to speak to the reception team. When I attended the practice, the door was locked and I had to speak in the speakerphone. The receptionist that I spoke to was very rude and dismissive. And she cut me off whilst I was speaking. I was appalled and disappointed that this happened. I would not like anyone else to suffer like this.

  6. Review titled Excellent Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been fortunate to be registered at the Croft medical centre since 1995. At present there is an excellent group of GP Partners who have been a part of the team for many years. The booking system has changed throughout the years but I have always booked by telephone. During the last year as long as I call at 8am I have always been booked in for a GP call for my requested GP by 8.20 at the latest. Today I have had a follow up call regarding another prescription for HRT. I requested to try this for the first time in July and I was impressed with the positive, informative and helpful information I received. There was a thorough check of medical details and such a supportive and friendly professional conversation. An excellent service. Thank you so much.

  7. Review titled Terrible reception staff

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had an asthma attack, quite bad breathing, rang surgery, no appts for the day. Rang 111, they rang me back and said i should be examined within an hr by the local service. Rang surgery again spoke to a very rude receptionist, she clearly knew that i was struggling to breathe but she said ‘Oh we don’t have any correspondance from 111 yet, when i clearly explained to her that i have just spoken to them and i doubt you would get a correspondance in 5 mins. She was adamant that i would have to wait till they get a correspondance. She was extremely rude , put me on hold, spoke to her colleague and said rudely’someone would give you a call’. That was extremely unprofessional and made me feel like i have comitted a sin fallin ill. Atleast she should be taught some courtesy and what her behaviour should be. The on call dr was good and he immediately called me for f2f examination, listening to my sx. The reception staff should be taught some manners as to ho to speak to the patients or atleast they should be given some training. No one rings for emergency appt, if they are not in a n emergency and if this is the behaviour, what is the purpose of doing on calls. I am a GP trainee myself, but disgusted with that receptionist’s behaviour.
