  1. Review titled Bad practice. Don't register here

Rated 1 star out of 5

Took me days of trials to book an appointment. Only to be offered a phone call in more than 2 weeks time. Really?? No chance of seeing a doctor face to face! At first they even wouldn't even pick up the phone and derived you to a voice mail that does not work. Just kicks you out of the call. So frustrating.

The Staff have been very helpful regarding my concerns about tests and health concerns. They could not have done more for me.

  3. Review titled Shocking service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned up, the girl who answered just said"what!" I said is this the doctors surgery she said "yes". Not a great start to a conversation. I generally find the receptionists are rude, unhelpful and arrogant. In 5 years I still have yet to see my doctor. I've only ever seen a locum and never the same one twice. When you have sensitive illness you don't want speak about it numerous times to different people. Can you give minus stars -3*

Dear Patient, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback unfortunately you did not leave your name so that we may contact you to address your concerns directly. As all our receptionists are trained to answer the phone with either a Good Morning/Afternoon followed by the surgery name and "how can I help you" we are surprised at the way you were greeted. Even if mistaken for an internal call, this is not the usual greeting the team give each other. We would be happy to investigate further via telephone recording if you would like to contact me directly. With regard to your experience with the GPs you have seen at the surgery, again I would be happy to discuss on a different medium should you wish. Kind regards B Gallaway-Meyer - Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Absolutely useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 January 2024

Was first told I had to wait 4 to 5 weeks for an appointment then to call back at 8 am just like everyone else has been told so you can't get through at 8 am. Eventually managed to get an appointment only to find it was meaningless as the doctor was too busy to see me. Spent nearly an hour in waiting room in pain watching people come and go before giving up and going home. I will never go there again and would advise anyone else to not waste their time there

Dear Patient, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback unfortunately I am unable to investigate as you did not leave your name or any details. As you can appreciate sometimes the GP clinics do not run to time due to the differing nature of patient appointments. However, usually if the clinics are running behind, which is not the norm, you would have been advised either when you booked in or if you enquired at the reception desk as to why there was such a wait. Without the exact details I am unable to check if at this time the clinic was delayed due to an emergency or such. I would be happy to investigate further if you would like to contact me directly. Kind regards B Gallaway-Meyer - Practice Manager

Shockingly awful service, if "you call is important to us" then answer the phone!! It's always the same useless service.

Dear Mr Cornwell, thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on the website. We are sorry to hear that you had a difficult time in contacting the surgery. During peak times the phones can be particularly busy and we apologise for this. We do offer other options to contact us via the website. You can book appointments, order prescriptions and ask us for administrative tasks all via the website or the NHS app. This mode of access maybe easier for you and we can arrange access should you not have it already. 6. Review titled Much improved since last time

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by L McNaughton - Posted on 14 August 2023

I have been a patient at St John's Hill since it split with the Otford surgery, which is a long time ! Over the last few years it hasn't been easy to get an appointment and out of frustration, I have previously ended up paying for a digital GP appointment. I called the surgery at 8.20 this morning to make an appointment. I was number 6 in the queue and got answered after 11 minutes of holding. The receptionist was friendly, professional and helpful. I got an appointment for the same day. Arriving at the surgery the greeting at reception was warm and friendly. They were busy answering phones and dealing with walkin patients. I saw the doctor within a few minutes of arriving. She gave me time to explain what I was there for and I didnt feel rushed. All done and dusted in a short time, with my prescription on its way to the chemist. Which I duly picked up within 30 minutes. I would like to say thank you for the great service, you get 5 stars from me :)

  7. Review titled It is so stressful to obtain an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 February 2023

My elderly father is a carer for my mother who has dementia and is very frail. They are both patients at this surgery. When my father tried to telephone to make an appointment he was told to call back as there is only one doctor now- this has happened twice. Upon the third time of ringing he was told he would need to visit the surgery in person simply to organise the appointment. My parents are almost ninety years old, my mother can barely walk and yet they are expected to travel into town by 8am simply to arrange an appointment? They don't have a car, there are no buses at that time so would have to pay for a taxi it is madness. Like many dementia patients, my mum can barely get ready for 11am these days. I told my dad that he will need to be more assertive with the receptionist and, eventually we got something arranged over the phone. Today he managed to make an appointment when ringing but that has now been changed to a time which is not possible for them. I do understand that the reception staff are trying their best but some common sense and compassion needs to be applied.

  9. Review titled Thanks

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Thanks for organising for my son to have his flu vaccination. The process was really easy, we were called back after our initial enquiry and booked into an afternoon appointment. We were met by a helpful and kind nurse who gave him his nasal flu vaccine. I know it’s hard going in the NHS at the moment so i am very grateful for all your help and hard work.
