Doctors and staff at this practice are extremely caring and supportive. In October 2020, I spent 2 months in hospital with severe covid and developed covid pneumonia and a pneumothorax. Since being discharged I have been suffering with post covid syndrome and other health complications for nearly 3 years. My practice have continued to support and help me whilst I am experiencing continued struggles with post covid syndrome.

Trying to sort medical issues for my elderly mother has become a nightmare. I cannot speak to anyone generally, I have to sit in a queue on the phone system for an hour just to speak to a call handler. There needs to be some other way of getting in touch. My mum had an appt this morning at 9.15. I had taken time of work as the Dr asked me to be there. My mum has had home visits for the last 10 years - it turned out the girl had put the appt down as a surgery visit - which we were never informed of. I tried to ring but couldn’t get through. Eventually got a call back and the call handler said a Dr would ring me later this morning, but may run into the afternoon. I never got a call!! So now we are left not knowing what is happening - and I’m expected to ring again and wait another hour! GP’s need to understand that people don’t have time for this - I work full time and cannot afford time to sit waiting for someone to answer. Communications need to improve between families of elderly patients.

The Gaps have done wonders as have the nurses to turn around some serious health issues I have had and most of all had the time and patience.

I was seeing the nurse and was in on time for my appointment and the nurse was very good she explained everything in depth did the procedure and i left about 30 minutes later

Got an appointment for my annual review quite easily. Some results needed further tests which were quickly arranged including a call from the doctor to explain medication. More results to follow. I feel the surgery have responded well once I was in the system. If I hadn't needed this review I would have hesitated trying to call the surgery.

All staff from reception to clinicians are courteous polite and professional. I am always given the opportunity to say what's on my mind and to ask relevant questions.

I went for my annual review with one of the nurses at the practice. As always the nurse was really friendly and made you feel at ease. I cannot fault this medical centre.

The receptionists in particular are so rude, never experienced anything like it. They have an attitude from the minute they answer the phone. Clearly don’t care about helping people so don’t know why they are in this job.

As the Practice manager at Sothall we are working hard to improve the service we provide. Our website www.sothall.net has a contact us page which allows patients to send detailed information regarding the service they receive. We are then able to investigate more thoroughly and work with the staff more effectively.

When you hand in prescription and then go to collect 7 days later your medication is not ready because it needs signing by a doctor, this has happened more than once its a joke

Our GP's usually sign repeat prescriptions on the same day, very rarely they are signed on the next working day. There are a number of reasons why patients believe their prescriptions will be ready and they are not, however this issue is more easily rectified on an individual basis. We have a very open policy for patients to contact the surgery for such issues to be investigated and resolved.
