  1. Review titled Extremely Unhelpful Receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2022

Extremely unhappy with the unhelpfulness of the reception staff - wouldn’t even entertain booking me an appointment unless I divulged into my reasoning of needing an appointment. I even stated that it’s not extremely urgent but I would like an appointment booked in to which it was stated ‘well, if you don’t tell me what’s wrong then I won’t be able to help. Or you need to go to hospital’ Since Heatherside Surgery have been under the ‘Park Road Group’ umbrella, the service has been disgraceful.

Dear anonymous I am sorry that you do not like the protocol for our receptionists to enquire about the reason for your call. I am very sorry if they were rude to you. Most surgeries across the country now ask for a brief reason so that they can navigate your appointment to the most appropriate clinician. GP surgeries now have a large profile of clinical professionals working within them and it is the reception team who have been asked by the GPs to ensure the most relevant appointment is booked. Appointments are offered at Park Road, Old Dean or Heatherside. Please feel free to contact the surgery if you would like to discuss this further. Yours sincerely Netty O'Conor Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Poor GP service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I am just logging tickets with symptoms and GP sends a text with a brief response , I GP should be seeing patient for a face2face diagnosis of condition but on multiple occasions the new norm for the GPs is to work from home electronically on tax payers money - very appalling service , I do not like it

Dear Neil I am sorry that you perceive things this way. Please may I start by saying the only occasion a GP works from home is if they have Covid but are kind enough to still help out. If you would like a face to face appointment they are bookable 3 to 6 weeks in advance via reception. If you need to be seen sooner you can be added to the Urgent care list which is covered by duty doctor and 2 advanced practitioners along with pharmacists. I hope that this explains the situation for you but please feel free to contact me if you have any further concerns. Yours sincerley Netty O'conor Practice Manager
