It was very frustrating to contact a lot of companies during and after Covid but I believe Omnia have really tried to address this issue with their new web based service.I used it for the first time yesterday and have received 2 positive responses to my requests I have been with Omnia for many years and wish them well with their new progressive systems.

Dear Steve B, Thankyou for your kind review. It is difficult when you try a new system as you expect so teething issues and of course it is something that our patients need to try and understand the process before we know of its truly helping. Thankyou for taking time to review this service and we are really glad that the service is meeting your expectations. Thanks Omnia Practice

Dear Patient We are sorry you have had problems getting an appointment. You will appreciate that the whole of the NHS is under pressure due to additional demand from Respiratory issues (colds and flu) but we all have additional pressure from the Strep A outbreak. When you called you will have been given your local options including using our website to request an appointment. The website has been developed to enable patients request appointments when the phone lines are busy. You may not appreciate that the reception team can receive in excess of 5000 calls a day. The reception team cannot create appointments when they are gone so I suggest you reflect on your comments on the team as they are simply doing their best given the constraints of demand and supply which is affecting the whole of the NHS. As stated above I would suggest you use the website to request an appointment as I'm sure you will find it easier. Regards Omnia

  3. Review titled Poor Advice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having failed to access an out-of-hours service with 111 and badger for a serious UTI infection that lasted almost two days before a doctor from A and E referred me to a badger centre as an urgent request. I contacted omnia medical practice using their online help link in the morning at 8.00 am, explaining my condition and how I had not been able to get an appointment with any doctor in the last two days to get some antibiotics for my infection. I also called the surgery and stayed on the line for a further 2 and half hours when the phoned was not received; I decided to go to the surgery and explain that it is becoming impossible for me to get an appointment and that I have tried contacting the practice through the online service and phone call. I was told that it would be hard to get any appointment today and the online request can take up to 5 days to review. I was left with no option but to head to the local A and E, where they managed to get me an appointment at a badger centre that was out of my area and was extremely confused that my own practice could not deal with my situation despite me following all the protocol that I followed.

Dear Patient. Thankyou for your feedback and I am sorry if you feel that various parts of the NHS has failed in your expectations on this occasion. I am sorry but i am unable to comment of 111, Badger or A+E as we have no input into their services. With regard to Omnia practice you will appreciate that there is immense pressure on the whole of the NHS, when we have filled the appointments, we have to refer to other services such as 111. It is not possible to continue to see patients as that is not safe practice for clinicians. Without further details i cannot comment of the fact that you state you were on hold for 2.5 hours as our phone system log all calls and there is no record of such a long call, i would suggest you speal to the reception manage who can check this aspect. Kind regards Omnia Practice

  4. Review titled Poor access and service

Rated 1 star out of 5

After spending almost 2 hours on the phone in morning from 8am and in the afternoons from 2pm when I finally get through, told they cannot offer any appointments or callback with a Gp. Had covid two weeks ago, still chesty with persistent cough. Have a history of stroke /blood clot on the brain 12 months ago, had lung procedure 6 months ago and get pain and discomfort when breathing but practice advise to call Nhs 111 or ring the next day! Ring next day same thing happens no appointments to offer ring Nhs 111 !!! I have tried medication from pharmacy but no relief. The lady I spoke to this morning sounded like an automated machine repeating herself over and over again like a robot not listening to what I am trying to explain, I had to just put the phone down as got really upset. Absolutely awful service.

Dear Patient, Thankyou for review, I am sorry if we failed to meet with your expectations on this occasion. I am afraid that demand for appointments is very high on a Monday which makes our phones very busy. We have developed a new website that allows patients to request appointments without the need to wait on the phone. This would allow you to request an appointment and provide us with details online with no need to call the practice. Please let us know if you find this service easier to use. Omnia Practice
