    Let’s set on one side that the instructions handed out to get to this review page are inaccurate, that the reception process is slow and that the automated reception process is tucked away and hardly obvious, that the potholes in the car park demand ropes and crampons - so far typical nhs/public service experience. Poor. The reception area is depressing. I have been on medication for 18 months. Never seen a doctor. Had armfuls of blood taken, never been told a result other than a vague ‘we’ll let you know if there’s a problem’. Am I confident a message would get through? Do I believe a GP knows of me and whether I’m on the right medication? Not really. I’ve been referred to by the wrong name three times now. I’ve never seen the same person twice though they’re all very pleasant. Today’s lovely person (genuinely nice and efficient) would still have let me leave after a minute until I prompted her to read my BP readings, and then there was something that needed further investigation and a further appointment. I don’t know whether this is typical of today’s GP services - I haven’t been anywhere else to compare. There is no sign of pressure - the waiting room has been empty every time I’ve gone. This is not Aand E on a Friday night. I know I’m just supposed to be grateful that it’s ‘free’ (I know it isn’t, it’s actually expensive) and I know I’m supposed to clap rather than complain, but with some thought, energy and organisation plus a bit of leadership it could be so much better.

    Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear your experience of the service was not of a standard you would expect. We are very conscious of the fact our waiting room looks in a poor state of repair. You may or may not be aware that we had a severe flood in September impacting on the ground floor of the building. We are still waiting for the insurance company to organise repair and redecoration and the contract is currently out to tender. We have been informed that work will start July/August which will most certainly transform the waiting area and associated clinical rooms. With regards to the potholes, the carpark is the responsibility of our landlord and we have raised the condition of it with them numerous times. We were informed they were going to complete the ground works last weekend but due to illness this was cancelled. We are waiting a revised date for the job to be completed but our landlord if aware that the issue is very urgent. Looking at the service from the practice, unfortunately, as you have left your review anonymously, I cannot investigate the care you’ve received to date. Could you therefore please get in touch so I can discuss this with you further. I would like to stress that we work very hard at to provide the very best service we can for all our patients. This is reflected in the number of 5-star reviews we receive on NHS Choices, so it is disappointing to receive such a negative review. Like other services within the NHS, primary care is under pressure and to accommodate the needs of our patients we provide several avenues for individuals to access healthcare, not just face to face appointments. If the waiting room does ever appear to be quiet it will be because we have seen our patients promptly, that our healthcare team are consulting by other means, for example online or via the telephone or they are out on home visits and care home rounds. With regards to continuity of care, if you were allocated a specific GP this would greatly increase your waiting time for an appointment which we deem unacceptable. We therefore allocate the first available appointment to ensure you are seen as quickly and efficiently as possible. This may result in you seeing a different GP but please be assured they have full access to your medical records and care history. It will not impact on the care you are given.     My wife and I had to transfer appointments for our Spring Covid booster from Grassington to Ilkley. The visit on Sat. 25th May 2024 was excellent, as the whole surgery for the vaccinations was very well organised with those applying the injections fully explaining what was to happen and what to do if we had problems later. Thank you to everyone involved on the day for a pleasant experience, in spite of the tender arm for a couple of days !

    I was booked in for minor surgery mole removal on my face. I was very nervous. The Dr and Nurse were amazing. I did not feel rushed. Everything was explained clearly. They were kind, caring and took time to help me navigate my nerves. They were supportive and efficient. I was really impressed by the service and the approach. It’s important that people connect to people to administer a service so that you’re not just being ‘treated’ but are seen, heard and that the time with you matters. I felt reassured and well supported throughout. Thank you. Highly recommend.

    I had bloods taken today and it was the best experience I've ever had. Normally I am very difficult to take blood from and the whole experience can be traumatic. Today you took my bloods with care and so swiftly and professionally that I didn't know she had finished. Superb client focus and care

    I would like to express my very sincere appreciation to the doctors at our GP Practice who spent a significant amount of time with my wife and me in May 2023, in going through the recent completely unexpected hospital diagnosis following a serious tests at our local hospital. The doctors went through a number of key life-changing questions from my wife and me and reassured us on a number of concerns. No medical practice could have provided us with better care and attention me than that provided to us by the Ilkley and Grassington Medical Practice, at Springs Lane, Ilkley. We are very grateful for the service and care shown to us by the Practice, both medical and administrative. I should add that the care and attention provided by all the medical and administrative staff is consistent with the continuing service provided to us since we returned to Ilkley to live in 2019; we are very fortunate in being patients at such a professional and caring practice and on all fronts.

    I was advised to have an ongoing stomach problem diagnosed. My GP recommended I be fast tracked for detailed examination. This duly took place at a specialist unit in Bradford little more than a week later.

    Receptionist booked an 8am appointment for today with pharmacist for an annual review. It is now nearly 9.30am and no call. Not the first time appointments have been non exsistent.
