  1. Review titled Great Doctor

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mark Charlton - Posted on 14 November 2023

It was really nice not to fill rushed. The doctor was very clear and concise in what he had to say and was very informative. He listened to what I had to say and seemed to care. Very positive.

Took the day off from work to see a gp. Called at 8am, waited on the line 20 mins to be told no appointments are available. I asked what time I am supposed to call to get an appointment…they said 8am!!!! I explained I took a day off work to see a doctor, they said nothing they can do

I am sorry that you had difficulties in booking an appointment on the day. As already mentioned in a previous response, urgent on the day appointments have always been available from 8am Monday – Friday. Patients needing more urgent advice on the day appointment will call at this time to secure an appointment. However, all calls are answered and appointments offered to patients over 3 sites with a minimum of 8 staff members answering these calls at the same time. Therefore, appointments can be filled within a matter of minutes depending on demand on any given day. If you are concerned or have any issues with regards to your health, E consult is the quickest way for patients to secure an appointment if they have internet access. www.everesthealth.co.uk Finally as in my previous response, the Practice is aware of patients’ work and social commitments and accordingly are able to offer out of hour appointments when available on occasional week days from 6.30pm – 8pm and Saturdays 9am – 5pm. These are a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations and also appointments with the Nurse.

Sorry for delay in responding as there has been an initial problem with NHS Choices access. I am sorry that you experienced difficulties securing an appointment. Urgent on the day appointments have always been available from 8am Monday – Friday. Patients needing a more urgent on the day appointment will call at this time to obtain an appointment. However, all calls are answered and appointments offered to patients over 3 sites with a minimum of 8 staff members answering these calls at the same time. So I am sure you can appreciate, that the appointments can be filled within a matter of minutes depending on demand on any given day. If you are concerned or have any issues with regards to your health, E consult is the quickest way for patients to secure an appointment if they have internet access. www.everesthealth.co.uk E consult is designed to highlight important ‘red flag’ medical symptoms – these are alerted, where necessary to be triaged by the Duty Doctor who uses this information to prioritise the most urgent queries. In addition, e consult has a built in safety net to flag up critical medical problems and in certain cases will advise the user to dial 111 or 999 or contact the Practice. The triage process runs throughout the day and ensures that all e consults received before 4.30pm requiring an urgent same day response are processed within the same day. Finally the Practice is aware of patients’ work and social commitments and accordingly are able to offer out of hour appointments on occasional week days from 6.30pm – 8pm and Saturdays 9am – 5pm. These are a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations and include appointments with the Nurse.
