Dear Sue, Unfortunately, on that date, the 24th of August, we had a practice shut down in the afternoon for staff training. I will check with management whether they are informing our telephone providers to put the automated message on which informs patients that we are closed for training purposes. We apologise if this wasn't on this time but will ensure it is raised that it doesn't happen again. Many Thanks, BHMP

  3. Review titled Should be shut down

Rated 1 star out of 5

The service has been totally inadequate. Blaming other nhs departments for your own failings. Taken over 2 weeks to arrange a simple test. Once the test arrives and you know results are required urgently, all you can do is ask us to come in and sit wait until you get a chance to do the test. Sunrises you still have patients with this pathetic service.

Dear Patient, We are sorry that you feel this way. Unfortunately, this test is not held within primary care and should really be taking place within secondary care. Due to this always taking care in secondary care, this was a kit that we have never had to order before causing the delay for it to arrive with us. Learning from this, we have ordered an extra kit in just in case this every happens again. Once again, we apologise for the experience you have had. BHMP

  4. Review titled A waste of time even trying to see a GP

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Amanda Waterhouse - Posted on 15 June 2022

I tried ringing at exactly 8am and when the phone eventually was answered, at about half past 8 I was told no appointments left. So I asked for a telephone appointment, told they’re all gone. So asked for a telephone appointment in the future, was told all pre-bookable appointments are gone. So I filled in an E-consultation but stressed that I cannot answer the phone before 4pm because I cannot have my phone at work. The GP rang me, the following day, at 11am. He left a message to ring back, with no further instruction. So I rang back, during my 15 minute lunch break. After listening to the 2 mins of waffle the line then went dead, I assume because there is a 5 person queue. So tried again, was on hold for the rest of my lunch and then I had to hang up. So I tried again after 4. Eventually, my call was answered I was told that because I hadn’t answered the phone, or ring back within 20 mins (which is a rule that features absolutely nowhere on the E consult form) it was classed as a “missed appointment” so I couldn’t speak to the doctor. I was advised to fill in another E consult form and informed that they cannot ring me at specified times. So if I can’t see an actual doctor, and I can’t speak to one on the phone, and I can’t be available to answer the phone 24 hours a day on a completely unspecified day, what is the point in even trying? And just to avoid the usual line of “I’m sorry on this occasion” let me inform you the reason I’m leaving this feedback is because this is the THIRD time in the past 18 months that I’ve tried to see a doctor and this has been the case every single time; I can’t see one, I can’t speak to one, and I can’t book in a time to speak to one.

Dear Amanda, We would like to apologise for this experience that you had. We hope the your experience recently has been much better and that you have seen some improvements with the procedures and technology we have put in place. We upgraded our online consultations to PATCHS and one of the questions on this form is now "is there anytime in the day you would like to be contacted" and we try to contact you as close to this time as possible now. Once again, we apologise that it was a struggle for you to access an appointment at the time of you writing this review and we hope you have had an easier time getting an appointment since, should you have needed one. Many Thanks, BHMP
