  1. Review titled The new team and the integration of existing staff a winner

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by chris hall - Posted on 08 June 2023

8th june, had an eye problem needing referral and urgent appraisal. The receptionist was welcoming and happy to help me .Knowing its not easy to see a doctor on speck, I am delighted to report that it was arranged.Further expert analysis requested by the doctor at a clinic . I also had a prescription problem that needed a new one after cancelling the unfilled one and a visit to a different pharmacy . the prescription clerk totally on the case and sorted it and explained how. For me it a cracking service and I feel it is moving forward in a positive way. With the situation in all facets of NHS. staff shortage and the lost of so many staff to better paid private sector posts etc. lets give credit where due, and I do so for me. Aylesford medical centre . is 5 star thank you . due to the policy of this page no names of persons revered may be given .

  2. Review titled Good practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs M Farrell - Posted on 04 May 2023

I had a appointment this morning, the receptionist was very friendly and I saw the new Dr face to face and he actually listened to me and the consultation was excellent, he was also a friendly Dr. He has got a really tough job in getting the surgery up and running properly again which I am sure he will do with the new team in time. So far I have had no problem with new team

  3. Review titled Good news, I hope!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by David - Posted on 07 May 2023

I read, with great interest that there is a new owner of our local GP practice. From the recent reviews it seems that we may, at last, receive proper service that we are legally entitled to. I hope so very much. We have been very poorly served in recent years and no one, including local NHS managers, seemed to care. Fingers crossed!

I visited this morning and the new team were excellent, I had face to face appointment with Dr and he listened to what I had to say and gave me a good consultation. He was very friendly and hopefully he will build the surgery to get better again.

  5. Review titled Appointment missed due to clerical error

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by M Freeman - Posted on 19 April 2023

I had a face to face appointment booked (3 weeks previously) for 12 April which was subsequently changed, by the Practice, to an earlier time via a text message. The day before the appointment, I noticed that there was no appointment showing on the Homepage of the Patient Access service website. I thought maybe the practice was not using the website so I called to check the booking. They had no appointment booked on their system. I was offered a phone consultation at around the same time, which was not what I wanted. As I had waited a long time for the appointment I accepted the phone booking and fortunately the Dr who called was very helpful and I managed to get help with some of the issues I needed advice on. There really needs to be a better system in place to prevent these very basic errors from occurring. I called again today, 19 April, to request an appointment and they could not offer even a phone appointment until 2 May. On pressing they managed to ‘find’ a face to face appointment late on the same day. Having booked this despite really needing to speak to someone sooner, I had a look at the Patient Access website. No appointment is showing on there so I will have to make another call to check the booking has been made. If you have an appointment for a blood test you receive a confirmation text and it is shown on Patient Access. What has happened to GP bookings and why does the same system not apply? Generally not impressed with the administration service I have experienced recently.

  6. Review titled Service Provider has changed from 1 March

Rated 1 star out of 5

It seems that the Medway Group who took over from our previous GPS, without achieving anything positive, have now been replaced by another contractor. It would be helpful if patients had been notified of this. Let’s hope that the change leads to us all having a named GP, an entitlement, and the return of a proper and caring service.

I am sorry that you feel you were not informed of the new provider on 1st March 23. I am sure you will understand that there was a lot of work to do at the Surgery but I agree, we should have made more of an effort to keep out patients informed. This is something that we are working hard on now with the implementation of a new webste, quarterly newsletter and PPG. Helen Lakeland - Practice Manager

  7. Review titled Bad Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 March 2023

Like many reviews I have read it is impossible to get an appointment at this surgery. There is no compassion or interest from reception staff just "we have not more slots try tomorrow". Tomorrow never comes with this surgery as you go through the same thing every morning you call at 8am and wait 45mintues to 1 hour to be answered and told the same thing. In my opinion the Surgery has gone down hill since it was taken over and to make it worst they do not even respond to the negative reviews they receive that says it all. I was told to go back after 2 weeks by the doctor I seen but it may take 2 months to get the appointment. Very poor service we are not numbers but people with issues that require a doctors attention and do not need to be told to phone 111 or go to A & E who then refer you back to your GP. Its about time management looked at there system.

  8. Review titled No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Caroline - Posted on 21 March 2023

I have tried to get an appointment for 3 weeks - calling on 5 separate occasions- 3 I couldn’t get through , first time I spoke with reception I was advised the only way to get an appt was to call at 8am (tried this already and could get through due to long waiting. time). Determined to get an appointment I started calling at 8am - reception was permanently engaged until 0808 hours. In that time I dialled 24 times. Then I got through to the holding message, 38 minutes later my call was answered- they had no appointments and I was told - again - to call at 8am! I am at a complete loss as to how to get a Dr appointment- if anyone can enlighten me it would be appreciated

  9. Review titled Worse gp practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2023

2 days of staying on the phone for over 40 minutes only to be told we don't have any appointments . Ring back tomorrow at 8am .How many days are you supposed to do that only to be told the same thing no appointments. No wonder the hospitals are under so much pressure when you can't get to or speak to your doctor where else are you supposed to go.

  10. Review titled Cannot even speak to a doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Helen Trelawny - Posted on 30 March 2023

Waited two weeks for a telephone consultation (unable to get an appointment in person), the doctor tried to phone at 9pm - three hours past the appointment time. Now I have to go back to square one and phone the surgery "in the alloted time" and quite likely not even get through. The only good things about this surgery over the past few years have been the registered nurse who has since left, and the receptionists, who are surprisingly personable, though how they continue to be able to work in such a failing set-up is beyond me.
