  1. Review titled Worse practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 June 2024

I have been calling the surgery for an appointment after receiving bad blood results and after speaking to my Dr at my work place ,who is concerned that I hadn't started treatment yet has emailed my surgery. I was advised to call my surgery again to mention the email that has been sent and to reviewed immediately but the receptionist was not helpful at all and couldn't offer any appointments. Lack of patient care at Stirling Road surgery. I would not recommend anyone to attend this surgery and I will be taking this further.

  2. Review titled No confidence in the service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Stuart Anderson - Posted on 15 June 2024

I spoke to a receptionist at Stirling Road surgery yesterday (late afternoon). She said that a referral had been made for me (in response to an earlier e-consult) but that this had been rejected some time ago (no one told me) and also that she could not guarantee that anyone had looked at the information I gave and that it had possibly gone missing due to being passed around the 5 sites. This leaves me with a sense of 'lack of professionalism' and 'no confidence in the practice'. Service is badly managed and under-funded.

  4. Review titled Absolutely shocking

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 April 2024

My son has had a temperature for six days. Rang the doctor for an appointment only to be told there are too many people on the queue and to call back tomorrow. The next day it was the same response. Called 111 who, after a lot of questions, said he needed to be seen by his doctor the same day and to call for an appointment. I have a poorly child and my only option for him to be seen is to take him to an and e, when in reality he probably needs a course of antibiotics. Shocking service.

  5. Review titled Woefully inadequate and dangerous practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 April 2024

The Mayflower Medical Group run the most incompetent suite of GP surgeries I have ever seen. My wife contacted them concerned about abdominal pains and a possible ectopic pregnancy. The receptionist could not have been more callous and less caring, simply telling her to complete an e-consult or “call 999 if it’s really that bad”. Once she completed an e-consult, she was given a telephone appointment in four weeks time. Is it any wonder why A&E is full of non-emergencies when the services offered by your local GP surgery is so woefully inadequate? You can understand why the CQC have rated them inadequate and placed them in special measures. With rude, uncaring staff and a system which makes it impossible to ever see a GP, the only wonder is how Mayflower Medical Group are still permitted to run such a crucial service.

  6. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2024

My mum been suffering with migraines and the doctor was meant to call her today for a review but they didn't and so she had to call the surgery in which they said the doctor sent her a text to her mobile when my mum said they hadn't which is true the receptionist didn't know what to say and just said to check the text which again she hadn't received the receptionist should be able to let the doctor know and schedule a call back but they don't and now the only other option is to do another e consult would not recommend this GP practice to no one.

  7. Review titled Unable to get appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Heather - Posted on 29 April 2024

Filled in an econsult on line, which told me I needed to speak to a Dr today. My husband tried ringing the Drs for an appointment but it said the line was busy & said it will be 60mins wait goodbye. I went down to my Drs Mannamead surgery to speak to someone & was told I couldn't make an appointment there & to continue trying to get through on the phone. I explained the problem with the phone again & she said to just keep trying, which I did. I finally got through at 09.45 to be told there were no appointments left for today. Whilst visiting the Drs surgery I noticed there wasn't any patients in the waiting room. In the mean time I have rang 111 & I'm waiting on a clinician to ring me, I don't understand why we are not able to see a Dr or speak to a Dr on the phone. It is getting ridiculous to see someone. I hardly ever go to the Drs unless it is genuine reason, when i do im told it is a 10min appointment. something needs to done with this practise.

All patient requests for an appointment is completed through an eConsult this is then reviewed by a clinical member of the team and placed with the most appropriate clinical person. Mayflower like many practices are experience a high demand. Mayflower appreciate that this can be frustrating and are working with the team to continue to monitor and put measures in place. If you would like to reach out we can discuss this with you further, d-icb.mayflower.feedback@nhs.net . Thank you Mayflower Medical Group.

  8. Review titled Appalling wait for service

Rated 1 star out of 5

E consults that are not responded to. Horrendous waits on the phone to book an appointment Phone number for change in appointment not even working Over 10 days to get an appointment for a child, with a condition that has already had 2 appointments and is an ongoing condition which has been medicated. Can't even get an appointment for our local surgery, and this is the third appointment for this particular condition and all the appointments have been not for our local surgery.

  10. Review titled Pushing people to A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jaki - Posted on 29 April 2024

Did everything by the book..filled econsult out and was told someone would contact me within 28 days ( long enough) waited patiently, now on day 40, decided to call the doctors direct and a waiting time of more than 60 minutes, recorded message says to fill out a econsult ( Again) couldn't even fill out another econsult as it was closed due to high volume of people. Can't leave the house to get to the doctors in person so sent someone on my behalf to try and make an appointment. They were told to tell me to fill out a econsult...6 weeks after my first contact with surgery I have no idea how to speak to someone let alone try and make an appointment. This is the case with many at mayflower medical group. People are suffering because of the lack of help.
