  1. Review titled Don’t listen to the keyboard warriors

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came away on Thursday after visiting the practice for my 6 month checkup. The experience was harrowing. I have seen all. I take my hats off to all staff involved after what appeared to be two patients walking in and being boisterous towards the young reception staff. They were asked to leave and wouldn’t, being verbally abusive. After many attempts a dentist, the owner came out and finally the patients left. The staff handled the situation well. I feel sorry for them. You abuse the NHS, don’t turn up, you lose. I highly recommend this practice, always great reception and best treatment.

  2. Review titled Badly organised and rude staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have Been using this dentist for 15+ years but in the last 5 years every experience has been a bad one. Constantly moving or cancelling appointments, which would be fine, but the staff are so rude and have no interest resolving problems or excepting blame for any miscommunication. my teeth are generally fine but the first filling I ever had was done at tavern street and two day later the pain was unbearable but when calling to see if they could see me, they couldn't fit me in for over a month and when I explained I was in agony the reception staff had no interest. I know dentists are in short supply but doesn't mean you can treat people like this. My Advice would be Avoid at all costs.

  3. Review titled Don’t be I’ll or you get struck off NHS List

Rated 1 star out of 5

my wife and I woke up the morning of our appointment with a violent sickness bug which wasn’t pleasant to say the least. As the practice didn’t open until 8am I emailed them at 7am to apologise that we wouldn’t make it. The following week I called to rebook to be told that due to missing appointment we are now struck Of the NHS list but they would see us privately that’s funny isn’t it seems a money spinning tactic to me. The manager funnily enough was not available so I had the pleasure of speaking to a senior receptionist. She said been I’ll is no excuse and that we should have attended our appointment. It turns out they have two email addresses on their website and I fortunately choose the wrong one but again that is my fault apparently. We weren’t even given the opportunity to pay for the misssed appointments it’s an instant removal From the nhs list. I was told the manager would Not be able to phone as they are very busy so I said ok I’ll come into the surgery and speak to them to them to be told I would be removed from the premise and the police would be called, what because I want to speak to the manager. The annoying thing is that this appointment was rescheduled by the practice as they didn’t have a dentist available on our original date and we completed the coved declaration a couple of days before the appointment. I can’t believe this is nhs practice and there is no consideration given the circumstances when we have been there for several years without any issues. This practice has shown a complete disregard for the situation and the staff are exceptionally rude and they expect you to attend as I was told the staff wear full ppe when seeing patients. I’m sure everyone else in the Practice would love to have some one with a sickness bug sat next to them or to follow their appointment. Not sure when been physically sick how you have your teeth done in that situation but hey they obviously know best. Anyway they still haven’t responded so now an official Complaint will be made through the nhs. Looks like I’m not the only one That has had issues with Tavern Street practice

  4. Review titled Awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have had to cancel my appointment due to testing positive with covid. My appointment is 48 hours away and I was within the “two working day” cancellation time. Instead of being considerate, I was told this morning that I will be charged as it doesn’t matter whether people have Covid or not, they are still being seen. I did the considerate thing ( caring about others etc) , trying Not to spread the virus even more and still get shouted at on the phone as well as being charged for a late cancellation. Absolutely disgusting treatment and putting vulnerable peoples lives in danger!!!

I visited tavern street dentist a few months back and I can honestly say as a patient there for 14 years, I have not once had a problem. The dentists have always given me the best advise and the reception/nurses are always very caring and smiley! Lovely little practice.

  6. Review titled Nice and friendly

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Alex - Posted on 05 January 2023

Lovely reception staff friendly and helpful when booking or giving advise. As someone who is 6,3 the doors and ceilings are very low so be careful. Actual dentists themselves seem nice and care trying to help you out as much as possible. Only thing is I saw my dentist for 7minutes and it cost me £27 which seems a bit steep to me but if my teeth don’t fall out I guess it’s worth paying.
