  1. Review titled A complete nightmare

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had a “safety alert” text regarding a medication I was on and taking it whilst pregnant. If I wanted to discuss it further I had to reply to the text. I did this, and the reply was undeliverable. So I emailed and sent it through to the practice. I asked why I would need an appointment, was it because I had taken it during my pregnancy with my youngest son. The reply?…… The reason you would have to make an appointment to be prescribed pregabalin is because you haven't had it on your prescription for over two years. If this is something you need on your prescription, I advise you contact the surgery via the booking lines to make an appointment with a GP. I have been on this medication for over 8 years. Surely it’s the click of a button to check what I’m taking. They had the misinformation of me not having for 2 years…. From god knows where. I replied to that message and have had no reply. So I have called today and I will update if/when I get a call back but I won’t hold my breath. I also requested an appointment for my husband. The prebookable appointments are now at the end of June. That’s 9, nine weeks. Absolutely ridiculous. We were told to call at 8am but they are never available until Wednesday if you’re lucky as the appointments are all gone by 8.10am I’ve also requested an afternoon appointment previously when I needed to have a review. I kept getting sent afternoon appointments which I cannot attend due to my health condition I take a lot of medication in the afternoon. Whilst I understand the NHS is struggling and I’m grateful that we have such a service I think the wait times are horrendous and not helpful in the slightest. Big changes are needed.

  2. Review titled Awful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been trying to get an appointment for a week now without any success. In all seriousness this practice needs investigating. Their service levels are extremely poor. I can't comment on the calibre and service from the Gps at present as its impossible to get an appointment. They are either over subscribed on patients, under staffed on GPs or very poorly managed. Hard to get any answers really, it's actually better just calling 101. The script from marshalls cross is that there's no appointments left that day, call back tomorrow or go to a walk in centre. Really not sure this practice deserves any funding.

  3. Review titled Poor client liaison and communication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Brian Kellman - Posted on 23 February 2024

Your Pharmacist contacted myself with regard to why I hadn’t placed an order for my repeat medication for 4.5 months. I don’t understand how since September 2023 I have had a pacemaker implant, an attempt to remove a malignant bladder tumour, one week in Whiston Hospital with severe kidney infection. In December 2023 I had my bladder, prostate gland and various lymph nodes removed at the Royal Hospital in Liverpool. On each occasion I was given my meds plus extras so there was no requirement to re-order. What is so annoying and worrying is that the pharmacist couldn’t find any evidence of this period and I have proof that Marshall’s Cross Medical Centre was copied on every single document that was generated during this extremely stressful and painful time. If possible could you please explain why this has happened and why after 48 hours I still have not had any contact from your practice management although you have explained the situation with the telephones.

  4. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 1 star out of 5

Been with this practice most my life and personally never had an issue but have decided to start a process to change me and my son to a different one, have a 4 month old that’s constantly in pain and uncomfortable with a skin condition for the past 2 months+ but can never get a appointment to see a doctor when ringing, I’ve had one receptionist be sympathetic and helpful, the rest I’ve spoken to don’t seemed bothered at all and very dismissive when trying to explain, only time I’ve managed to get to see a doctor is because they needed to do a follow up appointment after taking my son to A and E. Doctors are lovely when you can actually talk on the phone or see one but 2 months for a appointment is disappointing for a baby.

Sent request for prescription via NHS App. Emailed the surgery the next day to say request sent via the App. What was their response?? It was we have 72 hours to deal with this request. Perhaps they're making them in the back office!! Disgusting!!

  6. Review titled Bad customer service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Barry - Posted on 17 November 2023

I went into the practice this morning as i suffer from angina and have been waiting for a operation on my back as I have nerve damage and suffer quite a lot, the practice manager was so rude and didn't want to try and help in any way she offered me an appointment over the phone for the 8th dec, I find that along time to have chest pain, I will definitely be changing Dr's after this experience, the shameful thing is that when I have seen a Dr there in the past they where very good, shame you can't get past the practice manager, I hope she never suffers with chest pain, and as I'm on heart meditation I'm extremely stressed and anxious is it any wonder Dr surgeries are getting a bad reputation, but hey we all clapped for the NHS

Sent email today for repeat prescription. Received a reply within 5 minutes confirming prescription has been sent to doctor to prepare. This is a regular repeat prescription and have never had a problem receiving the meds within 24 hour period. Can’t ask for better service than that. Well done!

  9. Review titled Would not recommend

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Charlotte - Posted on 22 August 2023

As an immunocompromised person and as a mother of a child under two i would definitely not recommend this practice. It has taken me numerous phone calls and even after ringing at 8am several mornings on the run it has taken days to get an appointment to eventually be seen. Not all but the majority of staff answering the phones are condescending and unhelpful often lacking empathy and care. The six Cs of care are definitely lacking at the practice in my opinion. So much so that after the last awful experience trying to get my daughter seen, filling in online patches forms and waiting weeks I have now moved myself and my daughter from the practice.

  10. Review titled Shockingly bad service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 July 2023

I had a face to face appointment booked with a GP. It had been booked weeks earlier. 1 hour before the appointment, I received a text message saying the face to face had been cancelled and a telephone appointment would be carried out instead. I was slightly annoyed, but what can you do? I waited for the call….. 2 hours after the scheduled time, I called and asked why hadn’t I been called. I was told that telephone appointments are not given a time or day and that they will call you sometime. So, not really an appointment then - just a random call. I said I want happy with this as I had things to do and requested a GP call me ASAP but was told the GP was out for lunch. How about calling your patients that you have a pre arranged appointment with before going out to lunch? Firstly, it’s common courtesy, secondly, try that stunt in the private sector and you’ll be out of a job. Finally, any last minute changes should be done initially with a phone call, text messages should be a last resort and used only if all other means of communication have failed. Lazy.
