    They are removing me from their list despite being an active patient living in the Leigh area and reception were unwilling to help resolve my complaint regarding this.

    A very very painful experience that I didn’t need when already painfully unwell. The reception staff promised an appointment the same day if I had a triage call (I’d made them aware I’d already had a private triage who have told me to see someone in person ASAP) followed protocol and did this because I thought they sounded like they knew what they were talking about. Did the telephone call with GP he said it was ridiculous I’ve been booked a telephone call for this and I needed to see someone in person as the first port of call, but had no more appts left for me - really stupid way of doing things when I’m in very bad pain and trying to avoid using A&E valuable time!! Phone back for staff to give half an apology about it and not be able to resolve anything or book me in to see anyone in person.

    Rang the practice yesterday (6/3/24) for a face to face appointment and the earliest date they could give me was April 2nd, just a few days short of a month`s wait. Ridiculous and my records would have shown the receptionist I was not a patient who visited the surgery every 5 minutes so I was obviously not a time waster. What on earth is going on there and my age 68 and my appointment history should have indicated I wouldn`t be ringing unless I really needed to.

    Yet again a complete mess with my rescue pack. One week on from ordering and still nothing. Told I should have had a call to say I needed to see the Doctor, never recieved the call. Passed on to gp alliance who also have no appts. Lax, no communication, no concept of what frustration they cause let alone where people end up, (hospital) as I did the last time the same thing happened. Resus with pneumonia and Sepsis due to the delay in getting the right meds. Would I reccomend this practice, not on your nelly.

    I went for my blood results, I was advised how to eat and drink the healthy way. I was told my sugar is slightly high so I need to watch it. I was also advised to have shingles vaccine due to my age. I was happy of that advice of which I will book soon.

    Attended today for cervical screening test. The nurse was lovely and took her time and made sure that I was comfortable all the way through. Gave warning before each step was taken. For anyone feeling uneasy or nervous I am sure that she would help them to relax and put them at ease through the procedure.

    I went in today, Wednesday, 1 November 2023, for a health check that had been arranged by the practice. I was seen on time, and the service I received was even better than and beyond what I had anticipated. In addition to the usual measurements of blood pressure and weight, etc., I was given a recommendation for a shingles vaccine which I agreed to and received during the same visit. I was given clear information and also great advice and recommendations about my health, with two future appointments for further services, at dates, times and locations convenient to me. When I went home after my visit, I checked my Medical Record on the Patient Access system, and found that the service I received (all the facts, figures and appointments, etc.) had already been promptly and clearly uploaded on the system. I am very pleased with the service I received, and the experience made me feel very happy about the current state of my health. I find the staff at the Leigh Family Practice courteous and helpful and I would like to thank them for the great service they provide, especially the nurse who conducted my health check today.
