  1. Review titled Brilliant cardiac rehab appointment

    by Danny15 - Posted on 29 November 2023

I attended for a cardiac rehab appointment. Everything about the appointment was brilliant: the cardiac nurse and cardiac physio, environment and ambience created. Approachable and inclusive in their plan.

  3. Review titled I feel happy and accepted

by Jagir - Posted on 17 November 2023

I had felt let down by other services in East London which I have been involved with, both in the past and presently, and all I have been given since early this year has just been pieces of paper, exercise charts, and was asked to carry on with it which has been a struggle and extremely stressful. I felt frustrated now and again with follow up appointment and I finally went back to my GP regarding my concerns, my heart consultant also got involved and made arrangement from Barts Hospital . I was referred to cardiac rehab and seen promptly by the physio. What a difference. Her reassuring words , empathy and listening ears coupled with her patience. I understood every single word of the exercise plan for me and I also felt listened to carefully. Given the opportunity and the support with all the encouragement by the cardiac physio Abi has made my day and am grateful for this offer to attend the session which will be tailored to meet my needs to help my motivation levels, which I nearly lost and I am now assured that I will get benefit and great recovery with my heart condition. I can't thank thank her enough. I will surely make use of this open door opportunity. Thanks to the cardiac rehab service for agreeing to see me . Thanks and apologies for my long story .

  6. Review titled I was extremely pleased with the service

    by Kimberley827 - Posted on 28 September 2023

I telephoned the District Nurse team as I had a blocked urinary catheter. A member of the Rapid Response Team and assistant arrived about an hour later. The problem was resolved quickly and efficiently, and I was extremely pleased with the service.

  8. Review titled Heart attack after the gym

by Stephensss - Posted on 19 October 2023

In September I felt a chest pain after leaving the gym. It got steadily worse whilst driving home. After I climbed 2 floors to my flat the pain was running down my arms and I knew immediately that I was suffering from a heart attack. I phoned the ambulance and after half an hour they arrived. They confirmed my fears and they rushed me to Barts where they put a stent in. Thank you for the care from cardiac rehab team.

  9. Review titled All the nurses that I came across are very outstanding

by Daya - Posted on 11 August 2023

I had an issue with my legs and I needed a tissue viability nurse. I was given this very nice nurse who helped my leg heal very nicely. She is very kind to me and I am always very excited to see her whenever my appointment comes around. Overall she takes care of my legs very nice and she is always very kind to me. There is also another nurse that helps me with my legs too she is also very nice and caring. All the nurses that I came across during my healing process are very outstanding and they make me feel more comfortable everytime I come to see them.

  10. Review titled Lack of clear directions and instructions

    by gammaqr69 - Posted on 01 September 2023

Here are my concerns with the appointment at Grove View Health Hub (Dunstable) that I took my family member to: 1) The letter sent out for the appointment lists the venue’s postcode, but if you follow the postcode given the sat nav takes you to a warehouse entrance for a local supermarket which is 100 meters away from the health center entrance. I could see no signs to advise you where you should be going. The signs that are there are designed to be seen by pedestrians not drivers. Having realized that the signs are wrong I drove all the way around until we found the car park for the local theatre which is where we are actually supposed to park – not clear instructions at all. 2) Parking – again no clear instructions expected to use Grove Theatre car park – should say this in the appointment letter rather than expect people to know. 3) In the Car Park there are only 3 disabled parking bays available – assumingly these are for theatre users – and so these are a long way from the health hub entrance. 4) Blue badge parking is only allowed in those three bays mentioned which is unusual for Dunstable – usually if a disabled bay is not available you are permitted to park anywhere and display your blue badge and receive no ticket – this is not the case here and I am surprised I as would have expected there to be at least 40% disabled parking spaces available. 5) Entrance – I got upset and obtained a minor injury from trying to open the main door. I injured my foot (I am very slight of weight) and also damaged the sole of my walking boot! I have since been advised that I may not have seen the electric door push, and so I had attempted to open the door manually. There may have been a small red door push – not the usual large plate which I am used to – but other people attempted to assist me and they did not realise the door should open automatically either – again no clear instructions or signage. 6) Logging in device in the entrance area – this is not clear if this should be for parking, used by the person driving, vehicle holder or the person attending appointment – I got around this by using the family name but again not clear instructions. These are my observations.

Thank you for this really useful feedback. As you will know, it is early days for patients and for us, as we have only been open a short time. So your feedback is really useful. Firstly, we are very sorry that you hurt your foot. We are going to put a clearer notice on the door to avoid others doing similar. Please come back to us if your foot does not improve. The postcode is the one that has been issued to us: LU5 4JD. It sounds like we will need to add a line to our letters to advise people of the sat nav co-ordinates. We will look into the other points you have made to see if we can gain some understanding in relation to the parking. We will be setting up a patient reference group to iron out issues and develop the service at Grove View going forward. Would you be interested in being part of something like this? If so, email us on: elft.communications@nhs.net and put Grove View Patient Reference Group in the email title. Thank you again for your informative observations following your visit.
