    My father was told to go to A&E by GP as his blood pressure was extremely high!! After a long wait and a few tests he was sent home still feeling very ill!! The following day I called him an ambulance as I was concerned he as having a stroke. The paramedics were amazing and spent a long time with him after which he was blue lighted to Queens hospital in Romford! Fortunately he didn’t have a stroke but his blood pressure was 280/180!! Very high life threatening and on the verge of cardiac arrest!! I thought I lost him but after being in Queens for a week he’s finally turning a corner. Why oh why was he completely dismissed at Harlow I don’t trust it at all now and it’s our local hospital

    I live alone and am a widower and so feel vulnerable. Had to travel to PAH by myself in the early hours of the morning with an embarrassing and distressing personal condition which if not life-threatening was certainly very worrying. I found all the staff to be extremely helpful and many going out of their way to be polite and pleasant to people as well as fulfilling what is obviously a very difficult and demanding busy day to day routine. The AE department was very full even in the early hours of the morning with many people obviously feeling worried and vulnerable themselves but all were treated myself included, very sympathetically and with respect. I left the hospital with home medication and a follow-up plan if this should not prove to be successful

    Yesterday my daughter attended the hospital because she was extremely unwell, we arrived about 12ish and she Wasn’t seen untill around 5ish even though when her observations were being done she was getting worse each time with temperature rising and become more lethargic and very pale, she had a rash all over her body that no one looked at unless the lady doing the observation spoke to the doctor her self to say that my 6 year old was getting worse and her temp was rising to almost 40! When we finally got seen they wanted to do bloods it took them 8 attempts to get the cannula in which then they recommended using numbing cream, I’m not sure why this wasn’t used to start with as my daughter was getting so distressed. After some time we was discharged but she had to keep the cannula in for home care, as we was leaving I went over to the receptionist to ask about my Parking to which my daughter picked up a white party cup on the side I stopped her and then the lady at reception shouted don’t let her touch that it is bleach in it, I’m so angry about this. Why on earth is there open bleach in a cup left unattended on the side in a children’s department? This could of been so dangerous if my child or any other child got hold of this! Or ever if a child split it over them self! This is not a extremely dangerous and I want this dealing with. When I asked the lady why she had bleach on the side on a child’s ward she didn’t seem to care and just said it’s where do do our obs! This is really not on.

    I was under the care of staff in John Snow Unit after having a total knee replacement on 12th January, 2024. It was a very good experience, due to the fact that the unit is so well run. From the Surgeon and Aneithatist, my dedicated nurse and all those who looked after me I couldn’t fault anything. The nursing staff were amazing, dedicated, experienced and so kind. Nothing was too much trouble. So all in all a very good experience. Grateful thanks to all on John Snow Unit, PAH.

  5. Review titled Excellent children pediatric/GP service

    We went to A&E with a child and were sent to see a pediatric/GP who provided excellent service. It took only 1 hour to be checked, assessed, and prescribed with the medication. Thank you very much for your care and excellent service.

    Had to take Daughter to PAH A&E on a Friday night after her ankle had an altercation with a pothole.. We were not sure what to expect but had resigned to the fact that it may be a long experience due to the time of the week we were going. Have to say that from the moment we arrived, from the security guard, to the lovely booking in Lady and then the triage staff, they all were so friendly and helpful even being under so much pressure on a Friday night. We were only there for 2.5 hours, all x-rayed and checked. Had to come back the next morning to see Emergency Nurse Practitioner. She saw us straight away and was also so friendly and helpful. Want to say a big thank you to you all at PAH A&E for your help last night and for the amazing job you all do under such pressure and restraints. We really appreciate you..

    I am truly, truly worried for any patient attending this hospital. The nurses that attended to me did not care, at all. I attended Princess Alexandra hospital on Monday the 15th after phoning 111 advising me to get to the ED within 2 hours regarding my severe back pain, nausea and dizziness. After 4 hours waiting and speaking to several nurses prior to the “GP appointment”, a nurse *censored name* was handling my visit. I explained my physical symptoms and past tests. She didn’t listen, she said there’s nothing she can do, refused to test further or ask any questions etc. She suggested I’m making the visit to the ED because of “anxiety”. She also kindly mentioned how the reason I’ve seen 4 gastroenterologists is because “I didn’t like the answers I was being given”. She unfortunately didn’t have a viable response when I mentioned how each new gastroenterologist had a different insight and ran different tests correlating to my symptoms. Luckily, my partner was there with me and is a witness to how rudely I was handled considering my calm and gentle approach. She sent me on my way that she is only here to deal with “critical” patients and was not concerned about my situation at all. I also mentioned about how I didn’t want to live, which she didn’t even blink an eye to. I am a very understanding individual and it would take a lot for me to “complain” about a situation, but this circumstance is very deserving. I have found her page on LinkedIn and her description about how she praises herself to have incredible customer care is a complete lie. I am extremely concerned for any patient under the care of *censored name*, who instantly pins physical symptoms without any diagnostics or evidence such as severe pain and abnormal blood results/faecal screenings on “anxiety”. This is disgusting. Thanks for your time reading this.

    I recently went into The John Snow Ward in The Royal Alexandra Hospital for a full knee replacement operation. I was in there for five days. What, for a man of my age, could have been a traumatic experience, was eased tremendously by the care, dedication, tender love, and professional attention of a wonderful group of staff. They were all fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, as they effortlessly looked after me during my operation and afterwards. Ensuring I had the best of care. The nurses here are angels in human form. Apparently, I'm not allowed to name names on a review: but the day nurses, night nurses, ward sister, student nurses, the doctors, consultants, three phyisios, the dinner ladies, and everyone else who looked after me while I was in hospital: you know who you are, and I salute you. You are the best.

    Went into a&e Friday afternoon with my partner, on Sunday I have to leave her waiting as she still hasn’t been seen by a proper doctor. Disgraceful!!!

    Why can't you put a good map of the wards and clinics in the Hospital The map on line is in zones with no ward or clinic names on it put a good map on line and you would save reception a lot of work
