  1. Review titled Amazing care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Samantha connelly - Posted on 04 April 2024

The team who work at this hospital is outstanding. I went in for a day surgery, and honestly had the best care I've ever received in a hospital. The nurses were so great and the anesthesiologist was so friendly and understanding of my worries. I felt very calm in the knowledge I fully knew the plan/ the risks. The Dr. Overseeing my case came to check on me after the operation before I went home which was a surprise. And the nurse in the day surgery unit made the best hot chocolate ever. The nurse who was supervising me coming round from anesthesia was so sweet and caring, especially when I began to have issues. She was very knowledgeable. This was honestly the best hospital experience I have ever had in my life. I wish I was allowed to name the nurses and doctors in my review, however I belive its against the review rules. But you can truly see the medicle professionals at chase farm day surgery truly care for their patients and enjoy thier job.

  2. Review titled Phlebotomy service was good

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steve - Posted on 22 April 2024

Since 2012 I have an annual blood test. The service is always first class as it was today. The appointment was kept on time, the booking in procedure worked well, the phlebotomist was pleasant and took my blood without causing me pain. The hospital has provided a good service to me and they deserve the encouragement of knowing how grateful I always am.

  3. Review titled Efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sanjay Revanna - Posted on 10 April 2024

Attended UTC on 10th April around 12.30 for ankle injury. Security, triage nurse, ANP and radiology technician were lovely, kind and efficient especially as I was unable to weight bear and needed crutches/wheel chair. From triage to discharge it took about an hour. My only "to improve" feedback would be to the receptionist who registered me- she was rude and obnoxious. Happy to give more details to the admin manage.

  4. Review titled Nice unit, lovely staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by S Rogers - Posted on 17 April 2024

I recently attended the Endoscopy Unit for a colonoscopy and from the efficient receptionist to the whole medical team that cared for me, made for a much better experience. A special thanks to the Dr that performed the procedure and the nurse that was by my side at all times. They chatted away making me feel more at ease, whilst being thoroughly professional. I wasn't seen on time, but realise the NHS is over stretched.

Dear S Rogers, It's great to hear that you had a positive experience at the Endoscopy Unit during your colonoscopy! It's important to acknowledge the efforts of the medical team who made you feel at ease and provided you with professional care. The receptionist, doctor, and nurse all played a crucial role in ensuring your experience was as comfortable as possible. You mentioned that you weren't seen on time, and it's important to acknowledge that the NHS is often under significant pressure due to high demand and limited resources. Waiting times can sometimes be longer than anticipated, and it's understandable that this can be frustrating. However, it's important to remember that healthcare professionals strive to provide the best care possible, even in challenging circumstances. Kind Regards Patient Experience Team

  5. Review titled Excellent Well Thought Out Clinic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Deb - Posted on 09 March 2024

I attended the One Stop Breast Clinic and was very impressed with the complete planning of this superb service. It certainly was very reassuring to have the knowledge should extra tests need to be carried out on the same day that they could be by expertise staff who specialise in this area. The Radiologist Doctor explained the procedure very well and inquired if I was alright on more than one occasion which was very reassuring and he was accompanied by a superb Nurse (H). In addition I so appreciate seeing the Consultant who informed me of the complete picture and advised of a follow up appointment with results. Well done to the whole department and management. The little Shopping Baskets are a great addition informing patients to put all your belongings in and to carry it around with you! Thank you.

  6. Review titled Long wait but worth while

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by AnaJ - Posted on 19 March 2024

I attended the urgent care centre on a Sunday afternoon with my 2 young children. The wait was really long, we were there for more than 6 hours and there is literally nothing there for the little kids to entertain them. Even the tv wasn’t on. This really needs addressing as it was a really painful wait for all of us. That being said, once we were seen - the doctor was friendly and helpful (I can only imagine the abuse he must have been receiving considering how long people were waiting). He diagnosed and prescribed medication and my little one is better now. Very grateful for the urgent care centre and service we received from the lovely young doctor we saw (once we eventually got seen)

Dear Anaj, I'm sorry to hear about your experience at the urgent care centre. Long wait times can be frustrating, especially when you have young children with you. It's important for healthcare facilities to address this issue and provide a comfortable environment for patients and their families. I'm glad to hear that once you were seen, the doctor was friendly and helpful. It's important for healthcare professionals to provide compassionate care, especially in situations where patients have had to wait for an extended period of time. It's understandable that the doctor may have been under a lot of pressure due to the long wait times, but it's commendable that they were still able to provide quality care. 7. Review titled Don't waste your time on urgent treatment in this hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 March 2024

I have been in the Urgent Treatment Center. I had severe back pain. After 4 hours of waiting with severe pain, the doctor examined me and explained the problem in detail. But, he told me the probable disease that I have, needs an MRI to diagnose. He said it would not be seen in an X-ray. Because they do not have an MRI in this hospital, he suggested I tell my GP and make an appointment for an MRI. However, when I told and explained the situation to my GP, it did not go like that. I did not know the process between the hospital and GP and it was my first time in the urgent care center. GP directed me to an X-ray which would not work in my situation as the urgent care treatment center told me. If the doctor in the urgent treatment center thought an MRI was needed, he could refer me to the hospital for having MRI. Or give me a letter to give my GP because my words to the GP did not work. I've wasted more than 4 hours by going to this urgent treatment center. Apart from examining me, they did not do anything to make the muscles relax. They just left me with this severe pain.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience at the Urgent Treatment Center and the confusion that arose when you tried to communicate your situation to your GP. It can be frustrating when there is a lack of coordination between healthcare providers. While I can't change what has already happened, I can provide you with some general information and suggestions that might help you moving forward. To address your situation, I would suggest taking the following steps: Contact the Urgent Treatment Centre where you received your initial examination and explain the situation. They may be able to provide you with a letter or initiate the referral process themselves. Schedule another appointment with your GP to discuss your symptoms, the recommendation for an MRI, and any documentation or letters you have received from the Urgent Treatment Centre. This will give you an opportunity to ensure that your GP has all the necessary information to make an informed decision about the next steps in your care. Any additional information then please contact our PALS Team on 02083751328 and we will be happy to help. Kind Regards Patient Experience Team

  10. Review titled Infected Wound from Urgent Care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 January 2024

My mum attended the urgent treatment centre to redress a wound. She had been seeing nurses for 3 weeks without any problems. After being refused at her doctor's surgery my mum had no choice but to attend the urgent treatment centre where she had her wound redressed with 'special packing' at Chase Farm. She now has developed a serious infection. It is clear the nurse was not qualified to carry out the would redressing and took no hygene measures either. If nurses can't change simple wounds, I'm not sure who would be able to.

However, when she was refused at her doctor's surgery, she had no choice but to attend the urgent treatment center at Chase Farm, where her wound was redressed with 'special packing' . Unfortunately, she has now developed a serious infection, and you believe that the nurse who carried out the wound redressing was not qualified and did not take proper hygiene measures.
