  1. Review titled Miscommunication

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2024

Had to book a blood test for my 16 year old daughter. It says on your website that Brentwood offer this. I also checked on calling to make the appointment that this could be done. An appointment was booked. I then got a call back apologising to say they can only make appointments for children aged 17 and over and that I could try Basildon Hospital. I live 15 minutes away from Brentwood so it’s very frustrating that we have to drive further for a routine blood test.

  2. Review titled Appt did not happen

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 November 2023

Online referral was all set up fot a telephone appt with pain management, nobody rang. I waited for over an hour, so contacted my GP surgery, they were very helpful indeed, checked my online appt & discovered the online appt system recorded a.m. instead of p.m. therefore they obviously ignored the appt, hence no phone call. Will now probably have to go through booking another one, no idea.

  3. Review titled Blood Tests samples lost

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Neil Kirby - Posted on 06 October 2023

For the second time in the last few months, the latest being on October 3rd, my blood test sample has been 'lost'. Not only is this hugely inconvenient for getting a timely diagnosis, the waiting time for a new blood test is considerable.

  4. Review titled Just short of exceptional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Stephen Pratt - Posted on 06 November 2023

I found the staff here to be extraordinarily attentive, professional, efficient and caring. I was particularly impressed by the care and attention given to a man who was nearing the end of his life. I don't think he could have received more kind attention anywhere, despite it being not well recognised by some of his visitors. The staff had great patience with me and supported me with kindness and humour from being practically bed bound to being able to manage for myself in getting out of bed, in the bathroom and showering, and dressing. My only quibble was the the physiotherapy was short on the ground,as even with their best efforts, they could not attend to me as much as I would have benefitted from. That is down to very limited numbers of staff covering many more patients than is practical The food is generally very good, and the cafe on the ground floor has an exceptional cheff serving great food. I had the best chilli con carne ever there! In short, if I had paid privately for my rehabilitation I could not have had better service. Thank you to all the staff and to Matron.

  5. Review titled Superb Ultrasound Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 August 2023

I visited for an ultrasound for a suspected kidney stone on 12 Aug 23. The doctor/consultant and the nurse on duty were both friendly and very professional and the ultrasound was very thorough. This is a fantastic local hospital and facility that appears to me to be underused and could take a lot of capacity pressure away from Basildon and Broomfield Hospitals for non A&E appointments.

  6. Review titled Chaos when trying to go home.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Crookbain - Posted on 25 April 2023

When told I’m ready to go home, everything collapses. Nurses seem to know what they are doing, executive's haven’t got a clue. All they want is empty beds, and when the get the chance they mess that up. Just been told that I might go home today!. I will believe it when I see it.

  7. Review titled Professional

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Susan Murphy - Posted on 18 March 2023

I had a biopsy in your dermatology department, which I was nor looking forward to. The receptionist was very friendly and I was seen on time and taken through by a very nice nurse. The consultant I saw put me at ease straight away and explained the procedure to me. This was carried out in a very calm way which put me at ease. I would like to thank them for making a worrying time much more acceptable. Thank you
