  1. Review titled Too bad for therapy!!

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 April 2024

Where to start? I required therapy as I am going through a difficult time. My therapist was constantly asking me what I wanted her to do to help me and my answer was that she is the professional and I explained hoe I feel. After putting me a few frustration faces what were making me feel even worse, she concluded that I am not ready for therapy, as I don't feel suicidal. Really? So, she has leave me without therapy, as "I am too bad for it, but not bad enough

  2. Review titled Extremely disappointed for my son

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Katie Stewart - Posted on 25 April 2024

After taking a long time to get my son in for therapy, diagnoses took even longer, I outlined initially that my son needed face to face therapy and I wouldn’t accept anything else, as over the phone therapy doesn’t work. Finally accepting that my son needed therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy was chosen. My son was confused as there were several therapists mentioned ‘all over the phone’ therapy started and my son said it was hopeless as all the questions were meaningless and like they were reading from a book. My son is very ill with his mental condition, no face to face therapy can be offered so my son has got worst. He was sick because of his mental condition and missed his telephone call this morning, the therapist used this opportunity to exit him from the therapy he has had, offering no further appointments, advice or even an alternative therapist. I’m absolutely devastated that he can be treated like this after all the investment we have put into it! I hope you’re happy with yourselves. You’re not even bothered about what happens to my son next.. disgusting

Still depressed still anxious and getting no help probably better off watching YouTube videos than contacting this lot Waste of time probably caused more depression than cured.

  4. Review titled Amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have just finished a short term talking therapy with Trent Pts and I am so impressed. The service was amazing from start to finish, they contacted me promptly for an appointment, and the therapist I saw was amazing. She was so kind, caring and sensitive to some really tricky issues I needed to discuss. I am so grateful for this service. I'd say, one of the best therapy services I have had therapy with.

  5. Review titled Very poor practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 June 2023

I tried Trent pts for the first time back in august 2022 as I have severe anxiety and depression and I reached out for help as I wanted to fully recover as I wasn’t able to even fully attend my work because of my illness. I then had to cancel my one of my appointments as I was really poorly and then had to cancel another appointment as I had started back at work and my schedule was different I was then told that I was being taken off the register and being automatically discharged without me even having a recovery which then lead to me being off again numerous times because of my illness. I then decided to try Trent pts again in June 2023 and I was told I would have an hour appointment and to be there at 2.30pm when I got there at 2.30 on time i was already extremely anxious and had been crying I was then told by the receptionist to sit in the waiting room which I had to do for another 15 minutes and while I was sat there waiting I was extremely anxious and was visibly crying and all the receptionist did was keep looking over and staring at me which made me feel worse and they never asked if I was okay or just even offered a tissue. I then went into the appointment and was trying my hardest to explain my problems all the while I was heavily crying I was then just shoved tissues and water to me and had to carry on explaining. I was then just shoved with one worksheet to complete for next session this was meant to be a hour appointment I was called in at 2.45 and was let out at 3.15pm. I then heard from Trent pts to say practitioner had cancelled appointments for the rest of the week so I’ve not even been given a second appointment now. I have not heard back from them since. The appointment I had last I feel like I wasn’t listened to at all and I felt like it was just very much ticking boxes just for them to have on record that they had seen me. I feel like Trent pts does not care about my recovery at all and just cares about ticking the boxes. I feel very let down by this service and I’ve had not recovered or even on the way to recovery with my anxiety and depression and have been made to feel even worse.

  6. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I've missed an appointment last week. Yesterday, before the 7 days were gone, I replied to my therapist's email apologising for missing that appointment, giving an explanation and asking her the next steps, especially because I'll be away for nearly a month to see my family. She didn't reply to my email. Now I am being kicked out of the service for missing that appointment, despite emailing my therapist within time limits. Very bad experience, won't recommend this service to anyone. And in my opinion these therapies work better when they're delivered face to face. Mental health is treated like a joke.

  7. Review titled Awful practice, would definitely not recommend

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had an awful and really upsetting experience with this service and it is my opinion that it smacks of being run on a business model rather than a client welfare model. My experience included the following, an unethical intervention by one particular service therapist; no contact or accountability from clinical lead re unethical intervention by said service therapist; treated as a patient rather than a client, with no involvement re my treatment options, and poor decision making from service and the second therapist I was given, involving a referral;obvious over reliance by service on my questionnaire scores, without therapist discussing the specifics with me;my assessments being counted as one of my counselling sessions, with no transparency concerning the same (something that was not the case with another iapt I attended some years ago); poor management of my session dates by the first therapist and therefore no consistency; obvious lack of therapist Cpd, e.g. second integrative therapist was unable to work with me on basic somatic interventions; felt no congruency from my therapists; felt lack of empathy from my therapists;felt lack of unconditional positive regard from my therapists; both the therapists I saw seemed unable to hold the frame in terms of consistency or appropriate interventions. For all above reasons, it is my personal opinion that this service is not operating in full accordance with the bacp ethical framework (not capitalised as the review bot will not allow it).

  8. Review titled Fell through a net & felt very unimportant

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 October 2022

I know a couple of people who are getting something out of this service but personally I felt I fell through a net. A receptionist was rude, patronising and difficult when I had 2x appointments cancelled before I'd even got started and plucked up the courage to call back to see if I can rearrange as nobody had called me. My actual session consisted of them doing all the talking and feeding me lots of CBT, methods et, despite my first assessment resulting in a need for counselling and "unpacking", rather than CBT. I didn't feel listened to. When I cried at something I recalled, a tissue was shoved at me and they started talking about methods. I felt it wasn't a safe space to open up after that so I shut down. After that first half hour session I was signed off as I was "fine". Tbh I will have to seek an alternative therapy as they opened up some wounds which weren't discussed or dealt with and the days following I felt lost, confused and angry at my past with nobody to discuss it with. Waste of my time.

  9. Review titled Worse now than when I started

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Fuming - Posted on 25 August 2022

Only interested in ticking boxes. They finished my treatment, after 4 half hour sessions spent repeating the questionnaires I'd had to fill in for them, because I hadn't done enough of my homework. I had asked for help with anger management and they threatened to hang up on me when I started getting angry. They are insistent that I keep a diary of every single thought and movement, whilst passing any actual therapy on to a short useless you tube of video of someone else offering more self-promotion than advice, and do not seem capable of offering any advice themselves other than suck it up, or try this leaflet (usually of the "count to ten" variety). The work coach was no better, likewise only able to offer up links to government sites that claim to help but have costs in the small print (even welfare rights are not free). They have nothing to offer that you can't find on google. All in all, I feel a whole lot worse now than when I started.

  10. Review titled Horrible experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 February 2023

My therapist told me I suffer from borderline personality disorders, he was obviously not qualified to make the diagnosis bur the damage was done, he said he's going to contact my so I can get the right treatment, he didn't do that as he realised he said too much, took me months to get a letter from him to my gp, had to go and pick it up myself, only to realise my discharge letter had nothing to do with was said during my therapy. Spoke to my gp about it, they didn't care. If you suffer with serious mental health disorder, save up for private treatment, trying to get help through NHS made me more suicidal then I've ever been before
