    Your Review: Having moved into the area exactly a year ago and between my wife and myself we have had to use the ora twice a number of times I can't give it enough praise. I can assure you that the medical practice we previously attended could learn from Marine Lake and the horrid stories I could relate to you of my sisters surgery in Northern Ireland would make you realise how fortunate we are. The triage system they run is exemplary and I can't understand why it is not adopted nationwide. Every person we have had dealings with within the practice has been helpful and polite. Today I had a consultation with an GP after using the Triage system this morning. She addressed the issue I had approached the practice about and actually identified another issue by being caring and professional. Sometimes we take for granted what we have on our doorstep and don't realise what it's like elsewhere. I can assure you the grass is not greener and I am delighted with Marine Lake Practice. Thank you for all that you have done for us over the last 12 months.

    I have been diagnosed with a long term health condition this year. I have submitted numerous econsults which have all been acted on within 24 hours, most recently this week. All staff have been efficient, caring and proactive in managing and treating my condition. On more than one occasion I have submitted an econsult, seen a gp and received medication within 3 hours. I have had follow up appointments arranged by the gp without me having to ask. Other than this particular medical condition the practice has been excellent, appointments being given in reasonable timeframes for non urgent matters and I have been offered other things such as a well woman check. I have had occasion to call the practice, and it can take some time to get through, but the call is always answered and I have found the reception staff helpful. I cannot fault the care I have received over the last few months.

    Absolutely terrible GP practice. These simply hate patients. Unable to get anyone on the phone. The telephone options menu incomprehensible. Never timely follow up. They never respond. Basic tasks taking 2 weeks minimum. Everyone hoped that in their new building service would also improve. That does not happen to be the case. If anything it got worse. Can't even email them any more, everything needs an eConsult which is drastically time consuming when it comes to non-medical requests. These have to shape up drastically. Patients are seen as an inconvenience for most of the staff and it is clear that the practice/operations manager is clueless on how to improve services.

    Admittedly had to wait just over 2 weeks to see the doctor but it wasn’t urgent. Staff pleasant on arrival and good appointment with the GP who was understanding and supportive. It’s not perfect there I agree but every practice is struggling and I think some moans are unjustified.

    Cannot make an appointment except via e-consult. Put a request into e-consult which they say they will respond to within 24 hours. If no response is received you should contact them via a link on the confirmation email online. I have had no response and sent the reminder but still nothing. Tried to ring them but the recorded message stated an answer could take up to 50 minutes. The admin is a disincentive to you being able to consult a doctor and is acting as a barrier to being able to access GP services.

    They clearly do not want to be contacted 35 minutes on the phone then hung up (after being told that I was number one in the call queue) e consult is a simple way of discouraging patients Very disappointed

    I find the combination of long wait times when calling the surgery , no replies to econsults for basic admin information , no replies to emails and now an issue when trying to order prescriptions via the highlighted email service extremely disappointing and frustrating , When will I as a tax payer see some improvement ???

    I am a frequently flyer, complex cancer patient. They do so much for me...bending over backwards, just to make my days easier. I see them trying so hard with their patients, and in return, spoken to so poorly...some people need to take a good hard look in the mirror at themselves. Marine Lake Medical Practice has helped me live. Not just saved my life, but given me the tools to cope with my worries and struggles. My treatment plan gives me quality of life and I'm so much better for being their patient. Thank you guys, I really appreciate you being in this community x x

    Surgery has had my test results for 10 days- used E consult twice - no response other than automated reply. Tried phoning- person I spoke to hadn’t a clue- refused to make an appointment with my GP. I need medication for my condition and still no-one has contacted me.

    The e-consult system used by marine lake is worse than useless. It is hidden in the 'appointments' section, so impossible to find without guidance and, when it is used, it seems to serve no useful function. The entry point is by disease name, rather than symptom or body part, which means the patient needs to know what is wrong with them before starting. e.g., there is no entry for 'chest pain' so one has to go in via 'coughing', 'cold or flu', or 'breathing problems'. In the case of my e-consult session this morning, I ended up filling in a questionnaire detailing the issues I was experiencing and what I wanted/expected and, at the end received a message that e-consult could not help. I had to close e-consult. I was informed that I should seek medical advice by phoning the surgery. The information I had entered was discarded. The surgery would not be informed and would not contact me. I then telephoned the surgery and had to repeat this information to a human who, presumably, had to record the same information again and arrange for a doctor to contact me. This process was quick and efficient, so I am happy with the human response at this level. I would expect a modern computer system in this area to perform at least an initial classification by symptom, to capture all information supplied, to identify urgent problems and provide this to whoever does the triage. Could do (much) better.
