  1. Review titled Dire place

Rated 1 star out of 5

Ringing from 8.00am today, 20 in the queue, after 20 minutes of ringing and I'm still number 20 in the queue. I took the option of a callback "when a member of staff was free" 5 hours later still no callback. This GP practice should be investigated it's an absolute disgrace. I should of had a follow up review for medication, but as I'm unable to get appointments I just request repeat prescriptions which are issued no questions asked. Yet this practice advertised for new patients to sign up.

  2. Review titled Appalling.

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice was so bad I left and joined another. The difference is refreshing. However the problems did not stop there. Having notified Laurel House of my change they failed (for 4 1/2 month) to notify the NHS National Records Office. This meant all copies of letters, generated by hospitals, did not get sent to my present GP practice. This kept them 'out of the loop' regarding my treatments. Don't join this practice as I feel it is unfit for purpose.

There was an ongoing family issue which has been resolved because the practice took the time to listen and understand and action. The staff are always very friendly and the practice will do everything to support you.

  4. Review titled Nursing team warm and reassuring

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by EmB - Posted on 17 March 2023

I attended for a cervical screening test. The Nursing Manager, who completed my test was warm, personable and reassuring. She made what can be an awkward and unpleasant test quick and easy and I felt safe and comfortable.

  5. Review titled compassion itself

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julie Smith - Posted on 27 March 2023

This surgery, where I am a patient, agreed to look after my close relative for end of life care at my address. I felt we were so supported by the GP practice during this incredibly stressful and emotionally challenging time as a family. The reception team were so compassionate when I reached out for help with the process or with accessing medical input for symptom control. The doctors and physician assistant were kind and I felt confident that we were in good hands.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

As a new patient to this practice and having had an accident which could be serious, all the staff from receptionists through to the physician associate couldn't have been more helpful even though this is still ongoing I have confidence in this practice and staff

  7. Review titled Still difficult to get an appt, even for urgent problems...

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by MS001 - Posted on 28 December 2022

As above, but I finally managed (with the assistance of a very pro-active senior member of the Reception staff. Thank you!) to get a phone call from a Dr - then an immediate appt with her - for my wife who was in great discomfort. The Dr was very helpful and kind - confirming that the problem was unlikely to be related to her existing cancers - and giving her the much-needed antibiotics, along with a follow-up appt to check that all was well. (It was, thankfully, as this was just before Xmas.) I have also just had very positive interactions with both the practice pharmacist and then another female Dr, who was very proactive and helpful. I get the feeling that, having gone through a bad patch, Laurel House has some new staff who are trying hard to improve their service to patients. Long may this last!

  8. Review titled Impossible to make an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 November 2022

I am a working mother and at the time you are supposed to call for an appointment I am taking the kids and then off to work. I attempted to pop in to make an appointment for the future - this was not an option. I emailed complaining being told I can make an appointment over the internet or email - not possible. If you actually want a good service do not register with this doctors!!

  9. Review titled Impossible to see a doctor

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 November 2022

I’ve been trying to see a doctor since August this year. Now 3 months later, I still cannot see my GP. Anytime I call for appointment I needed to stay and listen to a recording for about 3 minutest to then be told that all lines are busy call again later. Why does it need to be so difficult to see your GP?

  10. Review titled Facebook, messenger

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Beverley Davies - Posted on 19 October 2022

Was impressed how quick a response I had from a query on Facebook , concerning flu jabs and covid jabs, the lady replying was very efficient, sorted my query out no problems. So pleased that there are more ways to contact the surgery ,other than telephoning , which is very frustrating , no stress . Have used the website previously too , brilliant responses every time . Thank you
