  1. Review titled No concept of the words “Duty of Care”

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Fran Clark - Posted on 15 December 2023

I had cause to call the surgery and requested a telephone consult due to me not being able to mobilise independently. I informed them that the physiotherapist had told me to make contact as she was concerned. I broke my right patella and am unable to bend my knee due to a right patella tension wire fixation operation and wearing a knee splint. I also suffered a fragility fracture in my back. Having spoken to a care navigator this am due to numbness from my mid region to just above my knees I was told I needed to be seen. Having stated I was unable to get to the surgery I was told “well there’s nothing we can do unless you can get here. Is there no one to bring you? Can you get in a taxi”. My reply was no and I asked how they expected me to access a cashpoint as I had no cash and I’m unable to mobilise independently. I am unable to bend my knee to get in a car! I was then told “well there’s nothing we can do unless you can get here so shall I book you in” I was completely astounded by that and My response was no forget it! This surgery has been abysmal since a change in management structure due to retirement of the lead Doctor. I have also been told I am unable to make a complaint electronically and have to write a letter. I asked how am I supposed to access a post box. This surgery has no idea that they have a duty of care to their patients and do whatever possible to not offer care services expected by the NHS.

  2. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Spent 40 minutes on hold to only move up 5 places (from 15 to 10) no matter how many times i ask to be seen by a doctor as i am unhappy with the service over the phone i am always denied access. I have been with this practice my whole life so far and in the past year i have noticed a massive decline in the service being provided. Can never get appointments unless over the phone when this is not that helpful to me and have said i would prefer a face to face

  3. Review titled Unacceptable service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I spent 30 minutes yesterday, trying to get my son an emergency appointment.(just been discharged from a major hospital with a life-threatening condition, and told to contact GP for further treatment) was told to ring back this morning. he’s just spent 30 minutes on hold and now no appointments. this is totally ridiculous and a totally inadequate service.how many emergency appointments, do they have in a day if they can all be taken within the first half hour of being open?

  4. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been with the practice for a number of years and was seen with my daughter by one of the female Doctors. She was professional and truly cared for her, what a fantastic service we were given. Everything was explained and a plan was made regarding her care. In a time when most only give negative feedback, I wanted to highlight the fact we had a positive experience and the care from not only the people answering the phones(and yes it takes some time to get through but everywhere is the same) to the Doctors. Well done!!!

  5. Review titled The Surgery is not the Surgery it used to be

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been a patient at Wolverhampton Road for the last 41 years and in the last year or so the surgery has changed beyond recognition. You can never get through to make an appointment, when you do there are no appointments left. You request a repeat prescription to be told you can no longer do it via the surgery, it has to be done via the pharmacy, and when you do they then do not action it for 4 days and when there is an issue you are asked to call and make an appointment...well you would if you can get through, but you can't. When you raise concerns and say you are upset you are met with a sigh on the phone and a comment of "that is your decision", there is zero patient care of empathy. Ever since the last long standing Partner retired the place has been in decline, it is not just myself who has noticed but my entire family who are all patients. I am afraid I will be looking to move elsewhere because I do not feel my healthcare needs are being met by basic standards.

  6. Review titled Terrible practice, the worst I have ever experienced

Rated 1 star out of 5

Can never get an appointment. Have no queueing system so you can ring every few seconds for an hour and a half in the morning only to be told there are no appointments left. When you Do get an appointment it is not to see a doctor, you find out when you get there. Only seen a doctor once in 3 years and then he didn't seem interested!

My husband has been waiting for his results for 2 weeks and he's in severe pain and he's not eating much or sleeping. They just keep saying the Dr hasn't looked at them

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry your husband is having an issue with obtaining his results. Could you ask him to contact the practice to speak to myself or Wendy in Patient Services so we can look into the reason for the delay Sarah Bathew
