  1. Review titled Decussing response

Just rang the Surgery to make an appointment for my husband. To be told he has to ring and make it himself and that I cannot do it for him Was the advice from the practice manager who refused to give her name? The Receptionist receptionist was kind enough. But came across. I've not knowing whether she can make appointments or not. The practice manager who refused this appointmeneeds to go on an empathy course. Shame on her and shame on the doctors for employing somebody like her!!!!!

Both my wife and myself have had to contact the surgery this month about medical issues. On both occasions we had contact with a GP within three hours of making an online request and medication prescribed or the issue resolved. Very happy with our treatments.

  3. Review titled Really disappointing

My daughter called on 2nd February 2024 at 6.05 got through to the answer machine and was told she was number 1 in the queue, this carried on until 6.30 25 minutes!!! then they closed. No message that they were closing just kept saying you're number 1 in queue. Seemed they couldn't be bothered to take her call. Really uncaring so leaving this as positive feed back.

  4. Review titled Kind, thoughtful and helpful Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My GP wasn't working today and I needed a repeat prescription. I last had this med Sept 23 and only take it when necessary with my GPs permission. Pharmacy wouldn't repeat it because of the long gap, I can't get to Surgery because of extreme pain, I felt I was being punished for taking meds as needed with agreement of my usual GP. Today spoke with a receptionist who was very kind, passing my request on to a Doctor who promptly rang me and arranged a repeat prescription. Thanks to both because I needed help for the pain. Fantastic Service, kindly and thoughtfully given.

  5. Review titled Fantastic support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Travelling with my husband on the dual carriageway he suddenly became very ill. Being 150 miles from home and needing immediate care, I found there was a hospital in Honiton. I parked and accidentally walked into the Honiton surgery. The receptionist planned initially to re-direct me and offered the use of a wheel chair. Seeing how poorly my husband was becoming, she asked their duty doctor if he would see us. The response from him was immediate, thorough and did everything possible to assure us that he was managing to rule out some of the more serious diagnosis that could be associated with his symptoms. He then asked a second practice doctor to give his opinion. We could not have been dealt with more efficiently, given more confidence in their assessment or be more grateful for such a caring organisation. A huge thank you is deserved.

  6. Review titled Awful practice heading even further downhill

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have no idea what illness you have to have to see a Dr here. I have spoken to pharmacist who told me to contact surgery. Contacted surgery who told me to go to M I U went to M I U they told me to go to surgery. Honiton Surgery is a danger to the community. The practice manager is rude and unhelpful. we need a new practice in town that actually cares about people not profits.

  7. Review titled Felt ‘In safe and capable hands’

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jayne Deal - Posted on 24 November 2023

I recently accompanied my partner to an appointment at Honiton practice . We went in feeling fairly despondent about my partner’s condition and in trying to control his pain etc. The doctor took time to fully explain, to our level of understanding, how certain medications work and affect the body. Not just short term but long term too. Pointing out pro’s and cons of various treatments. He listened to our concerns and answered our questions. He took time to look back on previous methods and medication tried. He discussed options with my partner. We left feeling lifted and confident that my partner was getting the very best care. And most importantly, in safe hands. The doctor also recommended a book that might be of use to us to more fully understand a condition my partner has been diagnosed with. I have bought the book! Grateful thanks to this very knowledgeable and caring doctor. A credit to Honiton surgery.

  8. Review titled Total Lack of care from Honiton Surgery

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Okay so as we all know the Honiton surgery encourages patients to use the online consultation form rather than telephone them for appointments. Well I did just that on two occasions one of them being on the 28/9/2023 explaining that I need to be seen. It has been about 6 weeks now and I have not had a response from the Honiton surgery or a clinician on either of those occasions at all absolutely nothing, what a complete joke of a system. I feel I have been completely ignored and left to deal with my wellbeing all by myself, thanks for nothing!

  9. Review titled Uncaring and unhelpful

Rated 1 star out of 5

The reception staff are rude, GP’s hide away and see as few people as possible and direct you to nurses who are not trained to deal with GP queries. Luckily I didn’t trust what the nurse told me and went to A&E and was treated appropriately.

  10. Review titled Always had caring experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

When seeing nurses about swollen legs, they commented on my laboured breathing and sent for the on-call doctor. She gave me an ECG and took a blood test. Early next morning my GP contacted me and sent me to the R D & E hospital where I was diagnosed with blood clots on my lungs. I was kept in overnight, having been prescribed a warfarin type drug which has cured the problem. Their prompt attention may have saved my life. I cannot be more grateful.
