After suffering with a cough for weeks I finally plucked up the courage to sort it. From the initial phone call, through to the appointment the service was excellent. So polite and accommodating which certainly put my mind at ease. There wasn’t any rushing during the consultation and I felt very comfortable discussing things. I would seriously recommend this practice as they are always so professional and I’m extremely grateful to be able to access them, the best surgery I’ve ever been to. Thank you!

We’ve been so thankful for this practice since moving to it a number of years ago. The care we have received as a family has been outstanding for both routine and urgent care . The whole staff team : receptionists / medical secretary/ Drs / clinical pharmacist/ dispensary team and nurses are brilliant - showing care , compassion and warmth . This week , I again received excellent care for an infection - spoke to the duty Dr on Monday and started antibiotics- and when things worsened on Tuesday - again spoke to the duty Dr, was then reviewed and referred to the surgical team and by Wednesday was being seen by the surgeons for the necessary treatment . In many other practices where people can struggle to be seen - an A&E attendance would have resulted . Again, at short notice by Friday I was able to access a nurse appointment for dressings . To have a GP practice where prompt urgent care can be accessed when needed, with bookable routine appointments also available is such a blessing and it seems that many across the UK do not have such well run and efficient care - we are extremely thankful . We trust that you will keep doing what you are doing so well and hope that the way that you run can be modelled in other places . Thank you

I wanted to check something out and as ever is was easy to find an appointment. The doctor listened carefully and was very thorough in both questioning me and examination. A pragmatic plan was agreed with a follow up appointment scheduled for six weeks and an indication of any further steps to be taken if required. This event was typical of my experience at this practice - easy to deal with and all staff attentive and polite. Excellent care all round.

We can always speak to very helpful receptionist and if deemed necessary a doctor within the hour or an appointment that day.

Having recently visited A&E and felt like I had wasted everyone’s time I contacted my GP who saw me within the hour and took my very symptoms seriously 5*

We have been patients of Chew Medical Practice for three years now and when we moved a year ago we were pleased to be able to remain with them even though we are now officially out of area patients. On every occasion that we have need of their services they always manage to see us - usually on the same day. We always get clear and pertinent information and even on many occasions a follow up phone call a day or two later to ensure that everything is progressing satisfactorily. Altogether an excellent service.

Chew Medical offers amazing service. Every time my family use the practice we are totally amazed at the efficiency, compassion and care of all the staff from taking the call to appointments and follow up. All the staff are all amazing and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful community doctors.

In May this year, I contacted the surgery with what I thought was a minor urinary issue. I gave a sample that day and was given anti-biotics as a precaution. The next day they requested a blood sample and the same day I received an appointment for the Urology department at Southmead for several days later. I later discovered that I had bladder cancer which was dealt with very quickly at Southmead. During my treatment I developed an infection and Chew Medical Practice were very efficient in helping me with this. They immediately gave me antibiotics while they sent a sample away for testing. These antibiotics didn't help very much and I ended up calling the surgery on a Friday afternoon to seek advice. I received a call back swiftly at 16:30 with the results of my tests and reassurance that I was taking the correct medication. The infection duly cleared up and I am pleased to say I have made a full recovery from the cancer. I felt that this was exemplary service from Chew Medical Practice. Everything was dealt with so quickly, which no doubt contributed to the positive outcome. Whenever I needed to speak to a GP, I was able to on the same day and felt very well cared for.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Chew Medical Practice. The phones are always answered and if you need to speak to someone on the day you will always get a call back and if you then need to see someone urgently they always find the space. You may have to wait a few weeks for a routine appointment but there is no problem with that. Highly efficient and we are so very fortunate given the experience of other friends and other GP practices.

We moved to this surgery a number of years back and have been so thankful for the excellent care we have received for our family. It operates as you would hope a GP practice would - they always endeavour to see you same day if urgent and the clinical care is outstanding from the GPS and nursing staff alike. The reception staff are also compassionate and kind and the practice is clean and well managed. It is also so helpful having a dispensary on site. We are very thankful for this surgery.
