The nurses and warm and caring and go everything they can to put you at ease. They don’t make you feel rushed and explain every step of the procedure

  4. Review titled Great practice and speedy support

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been so impressed by the surgery. I have been able to use the Econsult form and both occasions have been seen in person in a speedy fashion. It gives me such peace of mind to be seen so quickly and to have my issues effectively managed.

  5. Review titled Awful phone receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 December 2023

I called my GP this afternoon and after 25 mins of wait, I was told by the unpleasant person (she was trying to end the call as quickly as possible) I was talking to that I could not be issued with a prescription by phone and needed to go in person to the GP to fill in a specific form and eventually get my prescription. After driving to the GP for 20 min and queueing for another 15 mins, I was told by the receptionist that I actually had to take an appointment for my prescription which could have been done on the phone and she asked me why I came to the practice in person. When I explained that one of her colleagues asked me to come she went to the backroom where phone receptionists are and came back to tell me that although she had a record of my call, nobody owned up to speaking to me on the phone or asking me to come to the GP for nothing. I will have to drive back to the GP again in a couple to hopefully get a prescription this time.

  6. Review titled Good care over the last 6 months

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’ve been attending the surgery up to 3 times a week to have my lesions treated. I found them efficient and helpful in organising my treatment. They are monitoring my diabetic care well. The most helpful improvement would be to be able to get my dressings changed at home as my mobility is very restricted and I’m unable to get to the surgery by my self. Unfortunately the surgery didn’t tell me that the only provision to have my dressings changed over the Christmas period was to use the service at St Mark’s. When they were contracted, they were fully booked anyway. Whilst I appreciate resources are very stretched, this was an issue for me. I’ve found the staff to be kind and caring. Overall a good service with a glitch over the Christmas period.

  7. Review titled ignorance

Rated 1 star out of 5

Decided it was time to see a doctor after dislocating my shoulder for a third time. All of my concerns were ignored regarding discomfort in both shoulders and i was recommended stretches and resistant band excercises to do for a shoulder that is popping in and out of place???? Im not a doctor by any means but even I know that will serve me no help. now left with a clearly damaged shoulder and I feel like I have no where else to turn to for legitimate advice. Really disappointed.

  8. Review titled No phone service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2023

Today, 24 Oct 2024, between approx. 2.30 and 3.30, I have been waiting on the phone being told that I was 1st in the queue. After 50 minutes I hung up. This followed a call at lunchtime - when I eventually got through I was brusquely told that this was for heart attacks and serious bleeding and I should get off the line.

  9. Review titled Shameful Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Shaun OLeary - Posted on 14 September 2023

Had to personally visit this surgery 3 different times over a 4 week period to get them to send a urgent referral that the hospital had already requested for them to send. Despite the hospital request, our repeated phone calls and the 3 in person visits, this still took them several weeks to make a simple referral done at the press of a button. Now were having the same problems getting the results of the long overdue Ct scan. Its now been over 1 month since the CT scan and neither Heatherwood Hospital or the GP surgery can provide the results despite knowing there is multiple lesions already confirmed. When chased they suggest contacting the hospital and the hospital suggests contacting the GP. You cant get a appointment to see a doctor unless you book in advance, sometimes weeks in advance and whilst the reception staff do their best there seems to be no accountability and you're just fobbed off to carry on waiting indefinitely, probably due to the overwhelming number of poor patients in exactly the same position. Its just disgraceful from start to finish.

  10. Review titled Poor outcome of referral to St Marks

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Nicky Holmes - Posted on 23 October 2023

I was in extreme pain with tenosynovitis in my right wrist and had taken about x4 calls to the surgery and unable to get through . I understand volume etc. I then wrote on August 1st online hoping to receive a call to be seen by a GP. I requested a steroid injection. I was contacted by the receptionist to go to St Marks hospital same day of which I was extremely grateful for. I asked who I was seeing and what for. I was informed just give my name. I arrived and I had to say I didn’t know who I was seeing or what for! I never recieved the treatment I knew I required but was put on a waiting list. The last steroid I’d had was completed by my GP. I had to go to see another Dr to recieve the steroid as I was unable to use my hand! To date it has taken 3 months for physio hoping it was for my shoulder, no they where offering physio for my wrist. What is going on. So I am know on list again!!! If we are to be referred we need to know why and who we are seeing. It has been a complete waste of time.
